Captain - Charles DuGas-Standish

Charles is your host and is here to ensure your safety and that your stay with LADY E is the most
memorable and luxurious sea going experience possible. He leads a team of relaxed, confident
and skilled professionals to deliver an exceptional service. Charles takes great pride in his crew
and is confident in their abilities to satisfy your every need.

Captain Charles started his yachting career working for the City of Santa Barbara in California as a
Water Safety Law Enforcement Officer. He then returned to College where he graduated from Texas
A & M Maritime College in Galveston, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine
Transportation. Throughout his career he has obtained many certifications which have led him to be
able to command vessels up to 3000 ITC as well as to sail commercially on unlimited vessels.

Over the past 27 years, Charles has sailed around the world extensively including: across the Atlantic
Ocean (43 times), across the Pacific Ocean (4 times), in the Arctic Ocean, throughout the
Mediterranean Sea (East and West sides), the Irish Sea, the Caribbean Sea, Bahamas, Sea of Japan,
all along the USA East and West Coasts and across the English Channel. In addition to sailing, Charles
has also been directly involved in the building of yachts, the outfitting and commissioning and
warranty phases of yachts and all other operations of yachting including yacht management.
Charles has been a charter Captain for over twelve consecutive years, previous boats include: MY
POLAR STAR, PEGASUS, CAKEWALK, CAPRICE, MIGAEA and several years prior to LADY E on the
popular charter yacht NATITA.

Charles truly enjoys taking guests to places on the water where they can relax and enjoy life, while
having fun in the sun. When Charles is not involved with yachts, he can be found at home with his
family.
Captain - Nicolas Ruiz (on rotation)
As a professional yachtsman, Nicolas has held a U.S. Coast Guard, Masters license since March
1988 and has worked as a professional mariner and diver since 1985. He also has a successful
background in design, developments and implementation of high profile private and charter
program. Nicolas offers a true appreciation of tradition and regiment and brings integrity
towards every vessel size and owners intended vision.

Prior development projects range from award winning new builds, classic yacht restoration and
luxury submersibles showcasing his pride in selection of projects and value for the adventures of
modern yachting. He maintains longstanding relationships across the globe, having operated
under what can be considered some of our industry’s most demanding circumstances.

Having grown up in Hawaii and California, the sea has been an integral part of Nicolas’s life.
Due to this he genuinely tries to bring his own ongoing sense of adventure and excitement to
the guest experience here on LADY E, and is proud to operate as sport fishing guide and dive
master, having led many an owner, guest and charter client to their first trophy fish or glance at
treasures found in underwater exploration.
First Officer - James Kennedy
James is a justifiably passionate New
Zealander. Growing up on the Kapiti
Coast he raced sailing dinghy's from a
young age and now counts; kiting,
diving, water skiing, wake surfing and
swimming as his favoured water
activities. He holds an (under utilised)
business degree from Massey University
(Acc, Val & PM) and his Chief Mate
(yacht) 3000 qualification.
His previous yachting career includes
active sports and water safety
programs, and has taken him
throughout the Atlantic and Pacific
Oceans and the Mediterranean and
Caribbean Seas. His most memorable
trip to date is kiting and fishing on the
west Coast of USA and Mexico.
Aside from yachting he enjoys
spending time with family, trail running
in the New Zealand bush, riding
motorcycles and supporting the All
Blacks.
Second Officer - David Hitching
David comes from a small island in
Essex on the east coast of England
where yachting and water sports is a
large part of life. He has a
background in sail making before
joining the yachting industry in 2009.
Previous boats include NATITA and
GRACE E. He is an active water
sports enthusiast enjoying kitesurfing,
surfing and anything involving a
board and water. He is also a keen
golfer and football player.
First/Second Officer - Julian Cole
Julian grew up living the rural life on
a farm in New Zealand. He sees
yachting as the perfect career
because it encompasses
international travel with a
difference – getting to visit places
he would never otherwise get to.
Julian has been in the yachting
industry for over eight years,
working on yachts ranging from 30
to 82 meters. In the last 5 years he
has worked on SECRET, SANAM
and MOGAMBO. He currently holds
his Chief Mate 3000GT and is
halfway through completing his
master 3000GT license. He is
interested in swimming, rugby and
snowboarding, likes to keep
physically fit in the gym and enjoys
trekking and exploring new places.
Bosun - Mitch Hiles
Growing up on a commercial
flower farm in Cairns Australia, with
the Great Barrier Reef in his back
yard, Mitch has always had a life
on the water. From surfing to fishing
and diving water sports has always
been a huge part of his life.
Beginning his career on the Great
Barrier Reef as a dive instructor and
first mate, he eventually fell into
yachting. Previously, he has worked
on NATITA, DOUBLE DOWN and
BAD GIRL.
 ENGINEERING TEAM
Our engineering team are highly skilled professionals who ensure that LADY E is operating at her maximum potential, both in terms of
performance and safety. They work around the clock to monitor all systems to make sure everything is running at an optimum level
so our guests can fully enjoy the LADY E experience. Most of their work is behind the scenes but should not go unnoticed.

Chief Engineer - Phil Amphlett Chief Engineer - Stephen de Vooght

Sous Chef - Brandon Irwin
Brandon hails from Toronto Canada, and
from a young age has had an infatuation
with food and cooking. This led him to
attend George Brown Culinary School,
launching his culinary career. Since then
Brandon has worked in several high class
restaurants in Canada, ran his own
catering business, as well as working as a
Chef on yachts and on expeditions in the
Arctic Circle. On top of cooking Brandon
loves to live a dynamic lifestyle, which
includes playing competitive sports and
any activity that involves being in the

The stewardess team on LADY E are a delightful group of ladies who create a luxurious and ultra relaxing atmosphere onboard at
all times. Their duties range from housekeeping to service and they are here to make you feel at home by ensuring that your
cabin is impeccable at all times, clothes are perfectly pressed and that your dining experience is impeccable. Please do not
hesitate to ask for anything, from massages to the latest weather forecast, they will be delighted to oblige.

Chief Stewardess - Nicola Nischk 2nd Stewardess - Megan Wright

From the luxury restaurant industry in the
Cape Wine-lands of South Africa to the
indulgent Super Yacht industry, Nicola is a
master of composing an ambience of
warmth, style and flair. The yachts she
previously worked on include the likes of:
LADY KATHRYN V, SIREN and SOLANGE. Prior
to yachting she completed a Bachelor of Arts
Degree at Stellenbosch University where her
love and knowledge of food and wine
began. Nicola is a naturally active person
who brings a lot of creativity, enthusiasm and
energy to our fabulous interior team. In her
free time Nicola loves to horse-ride, ski, visit
the gym and go for long evening runs.
Megan is from Auckland, New Zealand.
Like all Kiwis she loves the outdoors and
travelling. Megan Joined LADY E with 10
years experience in the industry
including 6 years as Chief Stewardess.
Her previous boats have included LADY
A, BAD GIRL and NEW VIDA. In her spare
time Megan likes to try and keep fit and
travel to weird and wonderful places
and experience the local cuisine and
culture.

3rd Stewardess - Fran Collins Head Housekeeper/Nurse - Elle Rabjones

Fran grew up in a small costal town on
the peninsular of the UK called The Wirral.
Fran joins with a wealth of experience
having been on board NATITA for over
five years and LADY SHERIDAN for almost
two. Prior to this Fran was studying law,
however, her love for travel lead her to
the world of yachting. In her down time
you will find Fran riding her cruiser bike or
practicing yoga and she thoroughly
appreciates great food, a good laugh
and spending invaluable time with family
and friends.
Born and raised in the wine and surf
region of Western Australia, Elle's love
for the beach and the sun lead her
into yachting.
After studying and working as a nurse
for 5 years she left the hospital
environment and worked as a
nurse/Stewardess on LEANDER. She
joined LADY E recently and is excited
about her new adventure.
 INTERIOR TEAM
Stewardess - Litia Vermaak
Originally hailing from, Nelspruit,
South Africa, Litia’s sense of
adventure brought her to the
yachting industry. She joins us after
many seasons on board BAD GIRL,
DOUBLE DOWN and LUMIERE. In her
spare time she likes to explore the
outdoors, hit the gym or read a
good book.
Laundry - Sherwin Apilar
Sherwin is the Philippine “Laundry
Guru” and LADY E’s very own stain-
wizard. When he can get ashore he
loves to spend his spare time on the
basket ball courts or with his family.
He worked on Super Yacht
PALLADIUM before joining our team.
Sherwin is the longest standing crew
member on LADY E.
Masseuse/Yoga Instructor – Susanne Rosic
Susie was born in Vienna and
moved to Australia at the age of
21. Here Suzi studied skin care
therapy which she has practiced
for over 14 years now. Well
travelled, Susie now resides in
Spain and has recently moved her
extensive skill set into the yachting
industry. Along with her hospitality
experience, owning and running
her own businesses makes Susie a
great asset to the LADY E crew.
Susie is a yoga instructor, loves
horse riding, travel and Moto GP.

You can usually recognize the deckhand by their fabulous tan. They work the exterior bringing the sparkle to LADY E and giving her
the attention to detail she deserves. More importantly to our guests, they are all fully qualified to drive the tenders bringing you to

Deckhand - Nathan Simmons Deckhand - Yvonne Callaway

Nathan grew up in the garden of
England, Kent. After beginning a career
working as a dispatch agent for Kent
Police, he decided to change direction
and pursue his love for water sports
joining yachting in early 2017. Having
found his sea legs on a long distance
racing boat, Nathan is excited to be
learning the ropes on a motor yacht. He
enjoys playing football, an evening run
and socialising with his friends.
Yvonne completes our deck team and
joined us from Cairns, Australia. Prior to
her yachting career, she worked on
dive boats on Australia's famous Great
Barrier Reef.
Yvon has a great love of the water
and enjoys all things associated with
the ocean, swimming, skiing, fishing,
and snorkelling. Yvonne has travelled
extensively through Central America,
Europe and Asia.
