SECRETS
ACT ONE

INT. MARY’S HOUSE - 2:00pm

JOHN is playing with his toy cars. JOHN is moving his favorite
blue car around. JOHN’S MOM MARY walks in from the kitchen and
she picks JOHN up and changes him. JOHN is two years old and he
is wearing a blue shirt with a New York Yankees CAP. MARY is
wearing a pink dress with some black shoes.

INT. DOCTOR’S OFFICE - 3:00pm

They both enter the car and they drive to the Doctor’s office.
They enter the building and they sit down and wait for their
name to be called.

RECEPTIONIST
John Green?

JOHN and MARY enter the office.

MARY
So what’s the problem doctor?

DOCTOR
Your son has being diagnosed with Intermittent explosive
disorder.

MARY
What is that?

DOCTOR
 Canela, Gamez 2

It is nothing too serious but he will have to take anger

management classes.

MARY
(crying)
Why him!?!?

TITLE POPS UP

SECRETS

INT. Restaurant - 7:00pm

JOHN is having dinner with SHERRY. They are both dressed formally
because the restaurant is classy. At the time it is packed. Today
was the night that JOHN is going to ask SHERRY if she wants to
have a kid but something unexpected happens. JOHN is wearing a
navy blue suit. SHERRY is wearing a tight nice dress thats is a
salmon color.

WAITER
Good evening Sir and Madam, Welcome to Perch what would you like
to start of the night.

JOHN
May we have two glasses of water for now.

WAITER
Yes Sir,I’ll be right back with your drinks.

JOHN
Sherry I’ve always been wanting to ask you this question ever
since we got married. Will you be the women I start my family
with.

SHERRY
Ummmmmmm…
JOHN
So, what’s the answer?

SHERRY

It’s just that I need to tell you something.

Grabs JOHN’S hand

JOHN
What is it!? What is going on!

SHERRY(Scared)
I have another family with my ex and we had a baby boy, I love
him very much.

JOHN(Angrily)
You son of a bitch!!

They both stand up and the exit the restaurant.

INT. CAR - 8:00pm

JOHN is driving his Black Tesla. JOHN is still wearing the same
clothes that they wore when it was earlier. SHERRY is also
wearing the same clothes. SHERRY is trying to look at JOHN but
JOHN is avoiding to look at her and he is angrily driving home.

INT. JOHN’S AND SHERRY’S APARTMENT - 9:30pm

JOHN and SHERRY get home and they still haven’t said
anything.They have not been talking to each other since they got
home an hour ago.They start arguing again because they still
haven’t said enough to each other since they had gotten back from
dinner.

JOHN(Whispers)
You’re a whore.

SHERRY
What do you mean I’m a whore.

JOHN (Yelling)

How can you hide this from me, all this time that we have known
each other and you never had the guts to tell me. I thought you
trusted me.

SHERRY
I didn’t know how to tell you this but I was eventually going to
tell you babe. I was looking for the right time to tell you.
There is also something else I want you to know.

JOHN
What is it?!?!

SHERRY
Well when I was with him I got pregnant a second time but he
would beat me all the time so I lost the second baby and I became
infertile.

FLASHBACK

INT.JOSEPH’S HOUSE - 3 YEARS AGO

We see JOSEPH beating SHERRY while she is pleading to stop. At

the time SHERRY is pregnant with the second child. We then see
her crying on the floor with visible bruises on her face and
arms.

JOHN
Who’s the man who did this to you.

SHERRY
His name is Joseph.

JOHN
Where does he live?

SHERRY
I’m not going to tell you.

JOHN leaves the house for a run but SHERRY is unaware and is
clearly worried by the look of her face.

ACT TWO

EXT. Outside - 10:00pm

JOHN is outside running, around the city. He is thinking about

the news his wife recently told him. The anger is still rushing
through him. There is no one else in the area. It is just JOHN
running by himself.

JOHN (Thinking)
I can’t believe she didn’t tell about the affair.I wanted to have
a family but that asshole Joseph took the opportunity from me.

JOHN finds a bench and decides to sit at the lonely bench and
starts crying. The only working street light beams down on him
and we see how his dream that was going to happen is gone in a
matter of hours.

JOHN (Crying)
It’s not Sherry’s fault. I know she made a mistake and I could
forgive her but I can’t forgive what Joseph has done to us.That
son of a bitch ruined me and now he has to pay.

JOHN gets up fast and he begins his way back to the apartment.
JOHN now has gained the vengeance against JOSEPH.

INT. JOHN’S APARTMENT - 11:00pm

JOHN enters the apartment and looks at SHERRY. she seems really
worried about him. JOHN approaches SHERRY to apologize.

JOHN
I’M sorry Sherry.

SHERRY
It’s ok, I knew you were going to get mad but please don’t do
anything stupid.

JOHN
I won’t babe.

SHERRY
Are you sure?!?

JOHN
I’m sure babe.

SHERRY and JOHN hug each other passionately and they fall asleep.

INT. BEDROOM - 8:00am

JOHN and SHERRY are both in bed. They are both wearing their
matching pajamas. JOHN has just woken up SHERRY is still
sleeping. JOHN gets his phone and texts an old friend and tells
him if he can find out where JOSEPH lives.

INT. LIVING ROOM - 9:00am

SHERRY is now making breakfast for both herself and JOHN. She is
in the kitchen making pancakes,bacon and scrambled eggs.
Meanwhile JOHN is watching tv and he gets the message from his
friend that revealed the address of JOSEPH.

SHERRY
Breakfast is ready babe.

JOHN
Alright I’ll be there in a second

JOHN gets up from watching tv and turns off the tv. John then
enters the kitchen.

INT. KITCHEN - 9:00am

JOHN and SHERRY start eating their breakfast. They are both
pretty happy and they are enjoying their breakfast.

SHERRY
So how did you sleep?

JOHN
 Canela, Gamez 7

I slept great how about you.

SHERRY
I slept really good because of last night. Mmmmmm...

JOHN
I know I enjoyed it too.
Alright babe I have to go to work bye.

JOHN kisses bye and JOHN walks out the door.

INT. CAR - 9:30am

JOHN is in his car. He gets his phone and calls his job to tell
his boss that he can’t make it. He does a fake cough to pretend
he is sick.

JOHN (Fake Cough)

I don’t think I can come into work today. I’m sorry I feel under
the weather, I think I’ll be able to return tomorrow.

BOSS
It’s alright John there isn’t a lot to do anyways.
I’ll see you tomorrow.Hope you get better.

JOHN
Alright see you tomorrow.

JOHN hangs up the phone and drives out the apartment complex.

INT. BANK OF AMERICA - 10:00am

JOHN is inside the bank ready to make a transaction with the BANK
TELLER. The BANK TELLER is wearing a red dress.

BANK TELLER
Good morning sir, how may I help you today?

JOHN
I would like to make a withdrawal of 5,000 dollars from my bank
account.

BANK TELLER
Step right this way sir.

JOHN and the BANK TELLER walk toward the desk. They both sit
down.

BANK TELLER
Maybe I see your debit card and your identification in order to
see your account

JOHN
Ok here you go.

BANK TELLER
Thank you, this will take a minute.

The BANK TELLER walks away with both things. He then returns with
the money and hands it to John.

BANK TELLER
Here you go John.

JOHN
Thank you.

JOHN walks out of the bank with the 5,000 dollars in his wallet.

INT. JOHN’S CAR - 12:00pm

JOHN is in his tesla. He pulls up to JOSEPH’S apartment complex.

JOHN stays in the car to plan what he is going to do. He gives
himself a pep talk before going to go knock.

JOHN
Ok, all you have to do is tell him why your here and then tell
him to take the money and then you will be able to leave and I
don’t have to worry about you. I could finally be happy and be
with my family and we can try to make the family.

EXT. IN FRONT OF JOSEPH’S DOOR - 12:05pm

JOHN gets out of his car and walks up to JOSEPH’S front door.He
knocks twice.

JOSEPH(Angry)
I’m coming!

JOSEPH opens the door.

JOSEPH(Surprised)
Oh it’s you.

JOHN
Do you know me?

JOSEPH
I do know who you are. You're with that hoe Sherry.

JOHN
How do you know I’m with Sherry.

JOSEPH
I know a lot of things about you and your wife John.I know about
her infertility. I did that to her. I’m so glad that I did that
so she could not be happy like you.

JOHN
You son of a bitch!!!

He spits on JOSEPH’S face. JOHN walks into his car and begins to
start crying. We see the anger and sadness in his face as he is
very emotional.

ACT THREE

INT. JOHN’S CAR - 12:30pm

JOHN is in a lot of agony right now. His face is now against his
black steering wheel. JOHN is slamming His fist against the
dashboard.

JOHN (To Himself)

I can’t believe this is happening to me. My only chance to try to
get rid of him did not work and now I have to go home and accept
the fact that I can’t have a family with the woman I love. That
bastard is such an asshole because of him, Sherry can not have a
family with me. I can’t believe that my wife can’t have a kid but
that is just how life is, life is not always fair.

JOHN looks up and he sees JOSEPH (enemy) looking down at him

amused at the agony that he put JOHN through moments ago. JOHN
turns on his car and then drives away.

INT. JOHN’S HOME - 2:00pm

JOHN gets home and opens the door and SHERRY is waiting for him.
She is furious because they called from his job and said to tell
him to get well. She was confused but was going to ask him where
he was if he had not gone to work. SHERRY is now wearing a mickey
mouse shirt with some jeans.

SHERRY
Where the hell were you?!?

JOHN
I was at work,why?

SHERRY
Then why are you home early?!?

JOHN
There wasn’t a lot of work today so they said we can leave work
early today.

SHERRY
Why the fuck are you lying you son of a bitch.Your boss told me
to tell you to get better because you were sick.

JOHN
I called in sick to do some other work.

SHERRY
You mean take out 5,000 dollars?? What did you do with that???

JOHN
Why do you care?

SHERRY
You know what I’m done I don’t want to argue.

JOHN
I don’t need you.

SHERRY leaves crying to her room and locks the door. JOHN stays
in the living room and turns on the TV.

INT. JOHN’S ROOM - 2:20pm

JOHN is going to his room to talk to SHERRY and tell her that he
took the money out because he wanted to surprise her with a new
house. JOHN opens the door to his room.

JOHN
Babe??

JOHN walks in to the room and SHERRY is crying on the bed

JOHN
Babe I’m so sorry about all of that I do need you more than
anything in life.

SHERRY
Awwww babe really?

JOHN
Yeah and if you want to know what the 5,000 dollars were for?? I
wanted to surprise you but i guess I’ll just tell you… I bought a
house for us.

SHERRY

OMG!!! Babe are you serious?

JOHN
Yeah I am I wanted to take the next step in our relationship.

SHERRY
I love you John, I want you to know that.

JOHN (smiles)
I love you too

They stay in the room and lay down together.

INT. HAROLD’S FIREARMS - 3:00pm

JOHN is inside the store. He is walking up to the counter and he

sees HAROLD. HAROLD is wearing a bright yellow vest with some
jeans. He is also wearing a camo sweater.

HAROLD
Welcome to Harold’s Firearms, I’m Harold and how can I help you
today.

JOHN
Yeah I am looking for a Smith and Wesson M&P.

HAROLD
Great choice, you going to the gun range this weekend.

JOHN
Yeah I am going to the gun range this weekend.

HAROLD
I will need you identification so I can run a background check.

JOHN
Ok, here you go.

INT. Harold’s FIREARMS - 3:30pm

 Canela, Gamez 13

JOHN is sitting down in the chair waiting for his security check
to go through.

HAROLD
All done.

JOHN
How much will the gun cost.

HAROLD
The gun will be $650. Would you like any ammunation with the gun.

JOHN
Yeah I would like to buy some ammunation.

HAROLD
That will be 20.65 and your total will be 680 dollars and 65
cents.

JOHN hands him the money and he leaves the store with the gun in
his bag.

EXT. JOSEPH’S APARTMENT - 4:00pm

JOHN walks up to JOSEPH’S door and knocks. JOHN is wearing a red

polo shirt.

JOSEPH
What do you want.

Shots fired. Joseph is lying on the ground bleeding. His son is

still at school waiting to get picked up.

EXT. JOSEPH’S APARTMENT - 5:00pm

JOHN is being put inside of the police car. The police are
examining the scene and they are putting down the bullet markings
all over the floor.

OFFICER
How did the subject die.

CORONER
There were three gunshots to the chest area but I’ll take it down
to the office to make a full examination of the body.

OFFICER
Sheriff, were there anyone else in the building with the victim.

SHERIFF
A son of the victim apparently lived here at the time but he was
not at the scene where it happened.

OFFICER
Do you know where the son is currently.

SHERIFF
I asked some of the other residents and they are to believe he is
at school.

OFFICER
This man is a sick bastard.

SHERIFF
I know, take him away boys.

INT. COURTROOM - 12:00PM

JOHN is in a black suit and tie and he is with his defendant and
they are awaiting the verdict of the crime.

JUDGE
John rise.

JOHN rises and awaits the verdict.

JUDGE
 Canela, Gamez 15

For the murder of the first degree, we have heard the jury’s
verdict and we will hear my verdict of guilty and you will be
sentenced to 25 to life in prison. Court case is dismissed.

INT. PAROLE HEARING - 10 YEARS LATER

JUDGE
All rise for this hearing.

Everyone rises.

JUDGE(CONT)
We will now have JOHN plead for his release on parole.

JOHN
I’m sorry for what I did 10 years ago. My time in prison has
helped me rethink of what I did that day 10 years ago. I am a
changed man the therapists in prison helped me control my
disorder. If you let me go on parole I want to start on a
organization that helps other kids with the same disorder so they
won’t do something similar to what I did.

After ten minutes of discussing the case they came up with a

decision.

JUDGE
After deliberating and seeing the progress that you have made, I
have chosen to grant you parole.
