2. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
2.1 RESEARCH INTERESTS
Research interests cover a wide spectrum from basic laser physics and technology to a whole
range of possible applications. Previous work essentially covered spectroscopy of atoms, ions
and molecules. In recent years, focus has been on applications such as laser-enhanced
chemistry and chemical reactions (catalyst regeneration, photo-polymerization, laser ignition
etc.), conventional & laser ultrasonics, materials processing, and nanotechnology.
