Pre-Twinkle Demonstration

with Detailed Guidelines


Steps Guidelines

1. Rest Position Feet rooted; head suspended from above;


spine long; tummy in; shoulders relaxed;
eyes gaze steadily forward

2. Bow (Gesture of Respect) Bend from the trunk (Count 1, 2, up!)

3. Set feet to Playing Position Left foot move to left.


Feet same distance as shoulders;
Balanced and strong stance

4. Hold the violin “shoulder” Careful with the shoulder rest


and “hips”

5. Set Violin to Shoulder Jaw on Chinrest, violin underside on collarbone;


nose aligned to navel; tuck chin

6. “Magic” Bow-hold Bent thumb; curved pinkie on its tip;


bow up and ready

7. “Square” on E-string Set bow quietly on lower tape on the E string sound-point;
Drop elbow;
feel weight on the under-arm

8. Catch the String Put weight on the bow stick

9. “Busy-busy stop, stop” • Play Twinkle “Echo”

11. Bow and Exit Walk with grace and care; Take care of the instrument
