The Honourable the team of juries and committees in this English contest
First of all, let’s say thanks to Allah swt. Who has given us mercies and blessing so we
can gather in this place in good and happy situation.
Secondly, may sholawat and salam always be with our prophet Muhammad SAW, the
one who has guided us from the darkness to the brightness.
Standing in front off you all, I would like to deliver a speech under the title “ The Effect
of Corruption in Indonesia”
Ladies and gentlemen,
Indonesia is a huge country and absolutely rich. We have millions of different natural resources
from the sea, forest, mining, and many more. Indonesia is predicted to be one of the countries
which are able to take over the world. Even, European countries often made the calculation that
if the Indonesian people unite and work together to develop this country, Indonesia will become
a superpower country like America or Russia

However, why has Indonesia not been able to be a modern country until now? Does it because
of our human resources? Not quitely, the core of all the problems is CORRUPTION.
Ladies and Gentlemen, what is corruption? Corruption is stealing something that doesn’t belong
to us. And you know what? Corruption is not only dealing with money, but also time.

Of course, corruption makes our country become unstable and doesn’t have a solid system, even
the state’s finances are destroyed and ultimately, the people of Indonesia do not get their rights.

Talking about the impact of the corruption, maybe we who live here not feel the impact direcly,
but how about our friends who live in isolated area? They feel it directly, they feel it so much.
They cannot cross the river because there is no bridge and they cannot connect to the world
because they do not have internet access. Even the facilities that they should get, but they don’t,
But in fact, they have the same opportunity to the people in the big city but they haven’t. Beside
that, the effect of corruption that we can see everyday is our country road’s condition. When I
depart from home to this place, I saw a lot of holes. According to the research from the
government, there are much percents of the motor accident is caused by the road condition. So,
where is the money that should be used to build our road?
So from the results, we can see that corruption is also dangerous for the safety and soul
of the people of Indonesia. Imagine if every leader of Indonesia region doing corruption, how
much soul that in danger?
Ladies and gentlemen, How to wipe out the corruption?

The answer is, we can wipe it start from now, from me, you, the young generations and all of
us. But for that, we need much more patience and work harder. Not only that, the first thing that
we must be done is faithful to the God, secondly, we must obey the rules of religion and the
government. We must tell ourselves to not take anything that does not belong to us. I will give
you the simplest example that we can do, we have to go to school or work on time. Corruption is
begun by stealing something small, and evolves into a theft to the large sums of money. and we
have to be grateful for the sustenance that has been given by God to us.

Ladies and gentlemen, although corruption is a difficult problem to overcome, but I believe we
can solve it.
“Indonesia requires us to unite, promote, and liberate the country from corruption.”
I think my speech is up, I hope my speech can motivate us to be a better generation that could
fight againt the corruption, thank you for your attention
