1. Teacher to put up a picture of Superman and a baby on the
whiteboard.
2. Teacher to also put up the following list of verb on the board:
a. Cry
b. Run
c. Sleep
d. Eat
e. Play
f. Laugh
g. Fly
h. Help people

3. Teacher to demonstrate a few ‘can/can’t’ sentence about the
baby ‘the baby can’t read’ and about superman ‘superman can
fly’.
4. Teacher to ask student to ‘Stand up, hands up, pair up’.
Students are asked to work in pairs and come up with their
own ‘can/can’t sentence for the superman and the baby using
the verb provided.
5. Students are asked to write their sentence in a piece of paper
and shared with the class.

1. Teacher shows a “Twilight” movie poster. Teacher asks
questions:

a. What is the name of the movie? What is the movie


about?

- Vampires/love story

b. What do you know about vampires?


- Drink human blood/etc.

c. What can they do?


- Run fast/etc.

d. What's good and bad about being a vampire?

2. Teacher tells students that they are going to watch a movie


clip from “Twilight”.

3. Students observe the movie segment. While watching,


students need to write down sentences saying what the
vampires can do that we, humans, cannot.

4. Teacher discusses the activity with the whole class.

1. Teacher tells students that they are going to play “Human
Bingo” to find out what their classmates can do.

2. Teacher explains how the game is played.

3. Students walk around the classroom and ask their classmates


questions as indicated by the prompts. If a student answers
yes, the student asking the question writes that student’s
name after the prompt. If the student answers no, the
questioner continues asking until he/she finds someone who
answers yes.

For example,
A: Can you sing an English song?
B: Yes, I can. (A will write B’s name in the grid)
If the answer is: No, I cannot. (A will find another student
to complete the task.)
A: Thank you.

4. Teacher explains that the first student who gets five names in
a row wins.

1. From the interview in the Human Bingo, students write five


sentences about their classmates.
2. Teacher selects students at random to read the sentences
aloud to the whole class.
