The Relationship Between Diabetes Mellitus And Obesity With Preeclampsia


Incidences In Regional General Hospital Of Andi Makkasau
Parepare On 2018

Background: Preeclampsia is a set of symptoms which occur in pregnant women,


during labor, and postpartum consisting of hypertension, edema and proteinuria
but do not show signs of vascular abnormalities or previous hypertension, which
the symptoms appear after the age of 28 weeks gestation or more. Objective: To
identify factors associated to preeclampsia in Regional General Hospital of Andi
Makkasau Parepare on 2018. Methods: This study used Analytical Surveys using
quantitative methods with cross sectional design. The population in this study
were all Pregnant women who suffered from preeclampsia and had been
diagnosed by a physician in Regional General Hospital of Andi Makkasau
Parepare on 2018. The samples in this study were 19 respondents who found
during research from March to September using the sampling technique by
Accidental Sampling. Primary data collections were done through data
(questionnaire) and secondary data. The data were processed using the Statistical
Product And Service Solution (SPSS) 20 and analyzed by univariate and bivariate
statistical tests by Fisher Exact Test and presented in the form of a frequency
distribution table. Results: There is a significant relation between Diabetes
Mellitus With Preeclampsia incidences in Regional General Hospital of Andi
Makkasau Parepare on 2018 (ρ-value = , 045˂0,05). There is a significant
relation between Obesity With Preeclampsia incidences in Regional General
Hospital of Andi Makkasau Parepare on 2018 (ρ-value = , 018<0.05).
Conclusion: There are significant relations between Diabetes Mellitus and
Obesity with Preeclampsia incidences in Regional General Hospital of Andi
Makkasau Parepare on 2018.
