EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Brief Description of the Project

This study is about putting up a food kiosk catering Pancit as its main

dish. The objective of the proponents in making this business possible is to offer

its customers other varieties of pancit aside from those usual ones (e.g. Batil

Patong, Pancit Cabagan, etc.) The business will highlight food presentation,

flavour, smell, nutritional value, cleanliness, personal trust and interaction with

customers as the important parameters for assessing food safety as well as to

meet the customers' needs and wants. The proponents will put up the food kiosk

inside Megamart Manaoag Shopping Center & Hotel Llamido St., Poblacion

Manaoag, Pangasinan.

Brief Profile of the Entrepreneurs

Maria’s Pancit Express will be established by two (2) proficient Bachelor of

Science in Accountancy undergraduate students of Lyceum-Northwestern

University. The first partner is Angelica Peros from Brgy. Bisal, Manaoag,

Pangasinan and the other partner is Princess Ocampo from Brgy. Pao, Manaoag,
Pangasinan. Both partners are general partners. And each of them will be

contributing Php 150,000 or a total of Php 300,000.

Project’s Contribution in the Economy

The proponents aim to run their business with the objective of granting

economic opportunities like providing job opportunities to individuals especially

to those who have great passion in food preparation. When individuals are

employed they are able to raise their children, support them through school,

provide them with decent homes, and acquire medical services whenever

needed. Thus, the business will lessen the unemployment rate.

Maria’s Pancit Express will also contribute additional earnings to our

government by means of paying right taxes. Through this, the government can

able to perform its functions well, including continuous support and assistance to

the business industry, providing projects for the community and that will benefit

the people.

Project Background and History

Rationale

The proponents want to offer their valued customers different and

unfamiliar varieties of pancit that are only available to limited places. The
proponents aim to deliver these varieties to the customers without requiring

them to travel to the place of origin of Batil Patong and Pancit Cabagan.

Pancit is a derivative type of noodles that originated in China but there are

types of pancit which are different based on its own town aspects that originated

in the Philippines. The fact that pancit is eaten and part of Filipino culture means

that it was most likely brought over from settlers in the Philippines.

Places with most numbers of panciterias are in Isabela and Tuguegarao

City. The most popular made pancit for these places are the Pancit Cabagan and

Batil Patong, respectively. “Batil” means mix and “patong” means top or topping,

the noodles of Batil Patong is flat kind. Pancit Cabagan looks like a cross

between the pancit canton and pancit palabok. This kind of pancit is very popular

especially to Ilocanos and it is usually enjoyed by the locals as a meal for festive

occasions.

Proposed Name of the Business

The business proponents came up with the “Maria's Pancit Express” as the

name of their business. "Maria" as the Filipino translation of Mary, for the

business will be established in the well-known municipality of Manaoag because

of the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag, and “Pancit Express"

as the main dish to be served is pancit which is Pancit Cabagan and Batil Patong.
Type of Business Organization

The business will be established under a partnership form of business

ownership. The proponents will contribute money and skills to the business'

common fund with the intention of sharing profit equally among themselves. The

pre-operating capital for this business will be P500,000 each partner for a total of

P1,000,000.

Location

Location is one of the major factors to be considered when starting up a

business. It must be assured that it is accessible to the target market. Right

choice of location means reaching your target customers and responding

correctly to their market needs.

The proposed business will be located inside Megamart Manaoag

Shopping Center & Hotel Llamido St., Poblacion Manaoag, Pangasinan. The

proponents decided to operate in Manaoag because the municipality is

continuously growing competently and it is being visited by large numbers of

devotees every week, this would add up to the chance of the business to be

well-known and to bloom easily. The place is also a commercial area and near

residential areas.
