CONTENT STANDARD : 2.2 Demonstrate understanding of a variety of linear and non-linear texts in the form
of print and non-print materials using a range of strategies to construct meaning.

LEARNING STANDARD : 2.2.4 Able to read and understand a paragraph with simple and compound sentences.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
Read a paragraph about scope of occupations with correct pronunciation and stress.

i. PRE-LESSON : PRE-LESSON TASK 4: IDENTIFY THE FLASHCARDS
ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1. Teacher reads a paragraph about occupation on pupils’ textbook.
2. Teacher highlights a few occupations such as florist, cartoonist, doctor, teacher and
cook based on the paragraph.
3. Pupils read the paragraph paying attention to correct pronunciation, stress an
intonation.
4. Teacher asks questions based on the paragraph.
5. Pupils do revision for their upcoming examination.
