ABSTRACT

DIFFERENCES OF THERAPY LEARNING EFFECTIVENESS AND LEAVES


LEAVES TO CHANGE OF BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL PATIENTS DIABETES
MELLITUS IN SOUTHERN RABANGODU BIMA CITY

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is one of the non-communicable


diseases that continue to increase prevalence and contribute
to the increase of death rate from non-communicable disease.
One way to lower blood sugar in patients with diabetes
mellitus is with non-pharmacological therapy, namely laughter
therapy and betel leaf.
The research design used was Pre Experiment research with
"Two Group Pre Test - Post Test Design" research design. The
population was 58 respondents. Sample amounted to 48
respondents. The sampling technique used is purposive
sampling. The data analysis used is Independet t test and
Paired t test with significance level 5%.
Based on the test Independent t test obtained p value =
0.889, where p> α (0.889> 0.05). It is concluded that Ha is
rejected and Ho is accepted, which means there is no
difference in the effectiveness of laughing therapy and betel
leaf to changes in blood sugar level of diabetes mellitus
patient in Kelang Subdistrict of South Rabangodu Bima town.
In this study it can be concluded that there is no
difference in the effectiveness of laughing therapy and betel
leaves to changes in blood sugar levels of patients with
diabetes mellitus in the village of South Rabangodu Bima Town.
It is desirable for health workers to further optimize
services related to nonpharmacology therapy of diabetes
mellitus, especially laughing and betel leaf therapy, and can
be applied to the community.
