Students Learn About: Historical Concepts:


 The origins and significance of the Universal  Significance
Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR),  Continuity and change
including Australia's involvement in the  Cause and effect
development of the declaration.
 Background to the struggle of Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples for rights and
freedoms before 1965, including the 1938
Day of Mourning and the Stolen Generations

Strategies and Learning Activities: Resources:


 5 minutes: Allow students to enter ICT technology
classroom, settle in and mark the role for A3 cardboard paper
attendance. PowerPoint revision handout
 5 minutes: Establish agenda for the lesson Student devices
and classroom expectations with
classroom.
 5 minutes: Think- Pair & Share exercise.
Students will be asked to think about
everything they have learnt so far from the
depth study of Rights and freedom.
 15 minutes: Progressive brainstorm
exercise with whole class led by teacher:
 After pairs have discussed
amongst themselves, a A3 piece of
cardboard will be circulated to
form a progressive brainstorm.
Each pair will have to contribute
one or two ideas in regard to what
they have learnt from the unit so
far.
 40 minutes: Students will engage in
content revision, led by teacher covering
the assessable topics of the United Nations
and Aboriginal rights and freedom. A pre-
pared PowerPoint will lead the revision
and students will be given a handout which
will help students with revision.
 30 minutes: Kahoot revision exercise. This
will be a pre-pared quiz which focuses on
the previous content learnt throughout the
PowerPoint.
