Conflict – is a struggle between opposing forces that is the basis of plot in dramatic and narrative literature.
Types of Conflict:
1. External Conflict takes place outside of the body
There are four types of external conflict
A. Man vs. Man
- The struggle is between two or more characters in the story.
B. Man vs. Nature
- This type of conflict pits a story's main character or characters against a natural force such as
a flood, predatory animal, or disease epidemic.

There are two types of internal conflict
A. Man vs. Self
- The struggle or opposition is within one character--making a tough decision, for example. A
character struggling to overcome fear, addiction, emotional damage or other crippling
personal issue.
B. Man vs. God / Faith
- The struggle is the belief of the existence or non-existence of God. Also, the struggle of
believing and non-believing.
