In pursuance to instructions issued under reference cited, I submit as follows
The work was technically sanctioned for an Rs 525 crores by the Chief Engineer, Pranahitha-
Chevella Lift Irrigation scheme; Hyderabad and Registered vide CEI.No.27/2008-09 Dt:
01.12.2008. Tenders have been called for on EPC Turnkey system and the work was awarded to
M/s.MEIL-ZVS-PVSRSN-ITT (Consortium), Hyderabad and Agreement concluded by the
Superintending Engineer ,Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Pranahitha-Chevella Srujala Sravanthi Circle,
Nizamabad vide Agreement No. 5/2008-09 Dt:25.02.2009 for Rs 486.67crores at 4.86% excess
over ECV with a stipulation to complete the work within 48 Months. As per the agreement the
work should have been completed by 24.02.2013. But the Extension of time was granted by the
Government up to 30.06.2019. The scope of work is to create new irrigation potential of 50,000
acres in Mudhole constituency of Nirmal district by using 3.5 TMC of water from foreshore of
SRSP near Kankapur (V),Lokeshwaram (M) . The value of work done up to end of the June -2018
is 230.628 Crores and Percentage of progress achieved is 47.38% and the work is in
progress.
The Hon’ble MLA Sri.G Vittal Reddy of Mudhole Constituency vide reference 1st cited,
has requested for diversion of 0.55 TMC of water from Kaleshwaram Project,Package No.28 into
Gaddennavagu Project in lieu of water diverted to Mission Bhagiratha.
The subject matter was also discussed during review meeting held in the chamber of
Hon’ble Minister for Housing ,Endowments &Law along with Sri G.Vittal Reddy Hon’ble MLA
Mudhole Constituency .In the Meeting it was appraised that , the pump house ,Pressuremain &
errection of 2 motors with discharge capacity of 5.1 Cumecs each was already completed. The
pump supplies the water to Mudhole Left & Right Canals. Another motor with discharge capacity
of 5.1 cumecs supplies water to Tanoor Left & Right canal, after traversing for the length of Km
19.850. The discharge of Tanoor Left Canal is 2.361 Cumecs and Right canal is 2.739 Cumecs.
2
It is possible to feed Gaddennavagu Project with a maximum discharge 2.739 Cumecs or 94
Cusecs. This length of the canal is Km 24.450 and with corresponding discharge of 94 cusecs to
11 cusecs from head to tail respectively . After careful examination and as per site conditions, it
is concluded that, the feasible location of providing OT to feed Gaddennavagu Project is at Km
17.00 on Tanur Right Main canal to Pangri Vagu which joins Gaddennavagu after traversing
about Km 5.40, which has following hydraulic particulars at Km17.00
The designed discharge is 30 cusecs.
Bed width: 2.30 Mts
Canal Bed Level +382.251 M
Distance between to Canal to Gaddennavagu Project: 5.45 Km.
FRL of Gaddennavagu Project is :+358.700 M.
From the above parameters, if the motor runs for 24 hrs the maximum quantity of water that
can feed is 2.00 MCFT considering 20% losses. It will take 275 days to fill 0.55 TMC of water.
In view of above ,and due completion of Pump house and Pressuremains it is not possible
to alter the basic parameters of the scheme hence supply of water through Package 28 of
Kaleshwaram project to Gaddennavagu project is not feasible.
This is submitted for favour of information and further necessary action.

Yours faithfully,

Superintending Engineer,
GVC-1,SRSP,Pochampad.
