This pertains to the implementation of the Republic Act No. 10612, or the Junior Level Science
Scholarship otherwise known as the "Fast-Tracked S&T Scholarship Act of 2073." In compliance
with the law, ttre DOST thru the Science Education Institute (SEI) startcd implernerrting the
scholarship program in 2014.

As provided in Section 15, Chapter 5 of RA 10612 and agreed upon between the Department of
Education (DepEd) and DOST-SEI, the scholar-graduates under RA 10612 shall teach in senior
high schools for a minimtrn of two (2) years return service or provisional status. Should they
choose to stay with the DepEd beyond this period, they must pass the Licensure Examination for
Teachers (LET) within the first five (5) years ofhiring.

In this regard, may we endorse Mr. Jeric F. Gurtiza, an RA 10612 scholar graduate of Bachelor
of Secondary Education Major in Biological Science at the Don Mariano Marcm lvlemorial State
University - South La Union Campus, who is planning to apply at San Fabian National High
School, San Fabian, Pangasinan.
