 ABOUT ME.
My name is Paola Andrea Leaño, I am 25 years old an
d I study Bachelor Degree in English and I live in Sub
a, La Campiña.
 WHAT IS ESP?
It is a methodology used for teaching English in a speci
fic fields having into account the expressions, vocabul
ary and structures.

 In front of the scarce existent literature for
the education of the
Technical English of the career of civil En
gineering, I saw myself required to elabora
te this magazine and web page, which cert
ainly was not easy, given that my professi
on is not Civil Engineering and that the lear
ning of the English language that I have is
not enough to write something worthwhile;
but, I had the courage to do so, given its hi
gh need in our school. I must thank the val
uable help of my professor Mary and some
of my friends whom studied civil engineerin
g in another college.
Finally, I must say that I hope that this wor
k can be useful for our civil engineer stude
nts and obviously for our university.
 JUSTIFICATION
In front of the scarce existent literature for the ed
ucation of the Basic English of the career of civil
Engineering, I saw myself required to elaborate thi
s magazine and web page, which certainly was no
t easy, given that my profession is not Civil Enginee
ring and that the learning of the English language t
hat I have is not enough to write something worth
while; but, I had the courage to do so, given its hig
h need in our school. I must thank the valuable hel
p of my professor Mary and some of my friends who
m studied civil engineering in another college.
Finally, I must say that I hope that this work can be
useful for our civil engineer students and for the
university.
