COURSE OVERVIEW
 Sixth grade science at Centro Escolar Aldebarán is a dynamic and challenging course.
Through continuous assignments, which include presentations, videos, and
experiences, students will ask and answer meaningful and thought provoking
questions, share their knowledge with others, and practice the scientific process.
Throughout this course, students will learn concepts that lead to understanding the
permanently changing planet in which we live. This course will provide the sixth grade
students with a basic knowledge of life science, earth science, physical science, and
space and technology, making a special emphasis on how this knowledge relates to
them and their personal range of experiences.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
 The student knows that living things are different but share similar structures.
 The student understands that people, alone or in groups, invent new tools to solve problems
and do work that effects of life outside of science.
 The student work collaboratively to collect, share, and record information for a scientific
investigation.
 The student knows that a model of something is different from the real thing, but can be
used to learn something about the real thing.

CLASS EXPECTATIONS AND POLICIES


1. When the bell rings be in your seat with all the necessary materials to begging class.
2. Raise your hand to be called upon to ask questions or make a comment.
3. Do not shout out answers or comments in class without being prompted.
4. Use class time wisely. Stay on task, whether in group work or individual work.
5. It is really difficult to catch up once you are behind. DON'T FALL BEHIND!
6. Homework and Classwork will assign constantly. It is important that you do your work.
7. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN LEARNING.

GRADING POLICY/CRITERIA

 There will be periodic assignments and presentations of lessons featured on the textbook.
 The Homework assignment should be handed in the due date. Failing to do so will result in
the loss of the grading of the assignment.
 The Homework and/or Classwork assignments will be copied on the board.
