ACTIVITY 1 – SEQUENCING
Number the paragraphs in a correct sequence according to the pictures to form an
interesting story.

The boys cleared the rubbish around the school compound. They also swept the
dried leaves, pulled out the weeds and trimmed the plants. Everyone was
hardworking including the girls who helped to clean the classrooms. A group of girls
wiped the window panes while the other group mopped the floor.

At around twelve o’clock, the pupils had finished cleaning up the school compound
and classrooms. They gathered at the canteen where they were treated with snacks
and refreshment prepared by their teachers. All the pupils were as happy as a lark
when their headmaster praised them for their good job. They were tired but happy
because their school was clean and tidy. They were looking forward for the big day.

Sekolah Kebangsaan Aman Jaya, myneighbouring school, is situated a few


kilometres away from town. It is a big school and famous for its beautiful garden
and attractive landscape.

Last week, the Year 6 Bestari class teacher, Encik Rahman, decided to organise a
‘gotong royong’ to clean up the school as their Speech Day would be held the next
week. Early in the morning, the teachers and pupils gathered at the school hall.
Then, the pupils were divided into several groups with some teachers to supervise
them. The gardeners also volunteered to help. They were very supportive.
