    1. INTRODUCTION
    The purpose of Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing is to identify materials
    using PMI equipment (optical emission spectrometer or XRF method). The testing is
    to assure that materials are properly identified to their alloy type and according to
    client’s specification.

    2. REFERENCEDOCUMENTS
     ASME II A, B,C
     Material Specification/Mill material certificate
     X-MET 7500 User Manual

    3. PERSONNEL
    The personnel shall be able to demonstrate their ability to correctly use the
    equipment and do the testing in compliance with PMI procedure.

    4. EQUIPMENT
    XMET 7500 type is used to detect and verify all types of Chemical Composition of
    material except for Carbon, Phosporous, Sulphur and Silicon

    5. CALIBRATION
    Calibration certificate of equipment shall be available for client’s verification.

    6. SURFACEPREPARATION
    Material surface shall be free from any other material (paint, coating, oxide scale
    etc.) which would hinder accurate test results.

    7. SAFETY
    All PMI personnel shall be wear minimum PPE and work under company safety
    procedure.
