I. OBJECTIVES
Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other text types serve as ways of
expressing and resolving personal conflicts, also how to use strategies in linking textual information,
repairing, enhancing communication, public speaking, emphasis markers in persuasive texts, different forms
of modals, reflexive and intensive pronouns.

Performance Standards:
The learner composes a short but powerful persuasive text using a variety of persuasive techniques and
devices.

Specific Objectives:
A. Identify the pronouns used in the myth
B. Compare and contrast the reflexive pronouns and intensive pronouns
C. Use intensive pronouns in meaningful discourse

 Share with your partner the moral you have learned from the story.

 Discuss the definition and examples of intensive pronouns.

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson


 Circle the pronouns used in the summary of the story on p. 45.
 Paraphrase at least five sentences by transforming the circled pronouns into reflexive or intensive
pronouns.

D. Discussion of the lesson


 Share your insights about the following questions:
1. What is an intensive pronoun? How does it function in a sentence?
2. Give examples of intensive pronouns.
 Compare and contrast the similarities and differences between intensive pronouns and reflexive
pronouns using a Venn diagram.

 Answer the following questions in a complete sentence using intensive pronouns.
1. List down all the little acts of heroism that you did lately.
