You are on page 1of 2

Again a pleasant morning/afternoon to all of you.

It is with great honor that I have been tasked to

introduce a present-day genius from no other than the hometown of our Alma Mater, Tabontabon.
Though Tabon has been described as a fifth class community, it has been producing the world’s finest and
I hope we continue to do so. Among these products of our dear Tabon is no other than our esteemed
guest speaker.

My dear friends, our guest today has already come a long way though he is still in his early 30s. Born from
humble beginnings, his drive for excellence was bred in as early as his elementary years in Capahu-an
Elementary School in Tabontabon. He garnered honors ranging from first to fourth and has received the
highest award as a valedictorian in 1997. He went on receiving awards in Justimbaste-Remandaban
National High School prestigiously. Most people would’ve ended there but our guest didn’t. He managed
to break this wheel and brought with him his love for learning in college in Leyte Normal University with
his exuberance in different organizations as an officer and for receiving the Student-Teaching Proficiency
Award with a score of 96 out of 100. But still he did not stop with just that. His love for education continues
as he is now taking up Master of Arts in English Language Teaching in the Polytechnic University of the
Philippines.

Needless to say, he is a man of many achievements and of more to come, I presume. I would only mention
the tip of the iceberg for fear that it might take up more than a day to enumerate his accomplishments,
given that he never knew the word “Quit”. Anyway, they say that when someone is good in English, they
are bound to fail in Math and vice versa. Apparently, this is fallacy in the case of our speaker since he
managed to be exemplary in both when he became the DaMath District Champion and Division Champion,
Biolympiad Champion of ’98 and ’99, Spelling Bee Champion of 2001 and 3rd place in an Oratorical Contest
of which he wrote his own piece and joined with no coach or proper training. However, his passion for
English is more ablaze as he is multi-talented in the art of the language. His most significant award yet was
when he received the International Certificate of Recognition and Gold Star Award for Best Paper
Presenter and Best Paper in the International Language Studies Conference that was hosted by the Royal
Institute of Linguists in Singapore, of which he is a senior member of.

Take note, my dear graduates that he is a licensed professional teacher with a board rating of 85% after
he took the exam despite the lapse of 13 years since his graduation and the exam and despite his taking
it without even reviewing! He is also a member of an organization of professional voice talents, dubbers
and hosts called The Microphone Club. He has also engaged in corporate social responsibilities like
teaching PWDs for Communication and Employability Preparedness. Among the many endeavors, he is
also a business communications trainor, a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) review instructor,
a business English language assessor, an English instructor and a resource speaker for numerous speaking
engagements like Survive and Thrive: How to Stand Out in a Competitive Global Market in Baguio City,
Developing Communication Skills for Future Professionals in City of Malabon University and Personality
Development and Confidence Building in Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila.

Let us just say that he is the most suitable speaker for you, dear graduates. And now I give the floor to our
honored guest. Let us give a big and warm round of applause to Mr. Ariem Venezuela Cinco!
