ABSTRACT

This study was conducted in Beto Cave of Barangay Sawang

Capul Northern Samar. Specifically, it aimed to: identify the

different flora and fauna species present in the study area,

to determine the abundance of flora and fauna species in the

study area, determine the anthropogenic activities that

occurred in the study area, determine the Prevailing

Environmental Parameters that affect the flora and fauna

species in the study area.

This study was conducted in the Beto Cave of Barangay

Sawang Capul Northern Samar on the month of November 2017.

This study included the Inventory Assessment of flora and

fauna present in the study area. The Environmental Parameters

are temperature and Ph.

The descriptive research design was used in this study,

which focused on the Inventory Assessment of flora and fauna

species in the Beto Cave of Barangay Sawang Capul Northern

Samar. The descriptive method aimed to; describe the nature

of a situation, as it exist at the time of the study , and to

explore the cause of particular phenomena as involving

collection concerning the current status of the subject of

the study. Samples collected from the sampling site were

brought to the laboratory for further identification and

classification. Data were gathered and the manual work in the

study area.

There were eight (8) fauna species namely; Whip spider,

Tarantula, Pill Millipede, Gi-kulalapniti (unidentified),

Pingos (unidentified), Pangaan (unidentified), Baktin- baktin

(unidentified) and wati (unidentified). In flora, there were

seven (7) namely; Alocasia sp, Alocasia sp., Doryopteris sp.,

Diplazium sp., Montay-talon (unidentified), Ompol

(unidentified), Balagon-danda (unidentified).

It recommends that a similar study be conducted in order

to validate the findings of the present study. Further studies

on the flora and fauna species be conducted and relate their

abundance of conducting similar studies include more

Environmental Parameters and relate this to the presence/

absence of flora and fauna species in Beto Cave, and come up

with the list of the most economically important species for

their proper preservation and conservation.
