Lesson Activities: What will students do in the lesson?
- First, I will greet the students and gather them on the carpet, I will do the morning routine
with them
How many days are in the week? (SMTWTFS), and Today is (Thursday), yesterday
was (Wednesday). New day means? (new number), count with me. Then introduce
the learning outcome.
Today we will learn about types of animals, tell me who has an animal in their house?
I will connect the pets to some animal types.
- I will use picture cards and animal toys with the animal’s name on them to show them
different types of animals. (mammals, bird, fish, amphibians), I will ask them about the
animal’s names and what sound do they make.
Look at this animal, what sound does it make?
Do you think this animal is a mammal, bird, reptile, or fish?
- I will demonstrate to the students how to put the animals in the poster.
If my topic is fish, do I put the bird in here?
I write my name and class.
Two students cut the pictures, two students glue on the poster.
- I will send the students to their groups by choosing a random color (group color), and then
let them start working when the music starts and stop working when the music stops
- The groups that works collaboratively and finish first will get to use the animal toys and
classify them into the four types.
- After the students finish, I will tell them to clean up and come to the carpet, the group leader
will then get up and get the poster and show their friends what their group did.
- To finish the lesson, I will play a short video of animal’s types, during the video I will pause
and ask questions to make sure all the students are listening.
What is this animal? What’s its type?
What does this animal do?
- After the video I will do a quick review of the animal types and make sure all the students
understand by asking them question about the lesson.
Evaluation / Assessment: How will you know your students have achieved the goal?
After the video I will do a quick review of the animal types and make sure all the students
understand by asking them question about the lesson.
Personal focus:
In this lesson I am working on my classroom management techniques, I will use music to as a
timer and I will use class dojo and the stickers to award students who answer the question
right and the students that are quiet.
