II. COURSE TITLE: NETWORK MANAGEMENT

III. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course covers a wide range of materials about networking, from Local Area Networks to Wide Area

Networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media and security. It not only introduces a variety of concepts

but also discusses in-depth the most significant aspects of networking, such as the TCP/IP protocols suite. In

addition to explaining concepts, the course uses a multitude of real world examples of networking issues from a

professional’s standpoint, making it a practical preparation for the real world.

VI. COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. discuss the concepts of Data Communication and Networking;


2. identify different components of Data Communication and Networking;
3. differentiate each type of Physical Topology and categories of Networks;
4. enumerate the types of transmission media and their functions;
5. discuss different models of networks and their different levels;

6. create cable connectors for local area networking;

7. lay-out and manage network.
