LAWS OF GENDER VIOLENCE IN THE UNITED STATES AND ECUADOR

Nowadays, violence has increased this most affects children, girls and

women. Violence is a behavior that is widespread in society. Its impact is

observed not only in situations of conflict, but in the resolution of problems,

sometimes very simple, of daily life, there are several types of violence. The

one that I am going to announce is about gender violence, this is more the type

of physical or psychological violence exerted against any woman by the mere

fact of being so, having this different manifestations.

In the USA, the gender violence law has been restored again, and the

years that had passed this law were not enforced, then they returned to approve

this law but even so there continues to be violence against women:

“the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence every 9

seconds a woman is beaten; 38,028,000 women have

experienced physical violence at some time in their lives.”1 (Rubin,

2015)

 On the other hand, in Ecuador it is different, for they made a change on

one of the articles of the gender violence law where up to now this change has

been respected. But currently the women of the United States have made

several campaigns to return to protect the laws of gender violence and this has

been accepted by all Americans.

What surprised me was that in the USA they didn”t use these laws

especially for women, they also had to go through protests and still don”t

respect those laws. I chose the United States and Ecuador where I could see

that if there was a similarity, which was that in both countries they didn”t use the

law, but then a change happened, it”s also good to know more about the laws of

other countries, since one learns more. If an American person arrives in

Ecuador, he will notice the difference between the two countries, since in

Ecuador they apply this law, but in the USA not much, although now things

have changed and the USA is already passing laws.
