‰ A: File transfer between the NUM 10xx CNC and a PC is possible via
RS-232 communication. The following document provides the proper
wiring diagram for the RS-232 connection cable.

‰ Q: What is the full system backup and restore procedure for the NUM
10xx Series CNC?
‰ A: System application data backup and restore can be completed several
PC-based software tools.

o NUMBackup is user friendly a Windows based tool to allow for


quick system backup and restore. It is the recommended tool for
all 10xx CNC systems, with firmware later than “K”.

procedure while using the NUMBackUp software.

software within the NUM 10xx Series CNC? What type of memory is
used to store the OEM application Software?
‰ A: Much of the OEM application software is stored within the system in
battery backed SRAM. The following document provides details of
the system memory map and the procedure for battery replacement.

‰ Q: During the installation of the NUMTools Software, the prompt asks for
a “Serial Number”. Where do I get the serial Number?
‰ A: This serial number will be found on the CDROM jacket, only if
NUMPass HMI or SDK kit is ordered. If neither is required, the
following document provides details the requirement of the serial
number.
