In real property transactions, a deed of assignment is an agreement between the
seller of a land or Property and a buyer of that land or property showing evidence that the Seller has transferred all his rights, his title, his interest and ownership of that land to that the Seller that has just bought land.
Important civil code provisions:
Art. 1624. An assignment of creditors and other incorporeal rights shall be
perfected in accordance with the provisions of Article 1475.
Art. 1625. An assignment of a credit, right or action shall produce no effect as
against third person, unless it appears in a public instrument, or the instrument is recorded in the Registry of Property in case the assignment involves real property.
