Asalam-o-Alaikum, kia Ora Karam! Your last story was about how you have been

During these last few weeks we have been encouraging you to take responsibility for learning

routines and self-help skills. We are supporting you to sit at the table read Dua before eating and
use togs to pick fruit from the plate and pass the plate to the next child. 1/10/10
It was

Today when I setup the ‘bathing dolls’ activity you were very excited and said, “ To do.” I
asked, “What you want to do Karam?” You pointed to the dolls, I said, “You want to give bath to
the doll”. You said, “Please.” I appreciated your manners and asked you to get apron but you
said, “No.” I mentioned to you that you have to wear apron if you want to play with water. You
were in deep thinking mode in the meantime Talia came with apron asking for help to put it on
her. I appreciated her for being so responsible. I noticed that you put your arms in front of me
and happily put on the apron. I noticed you had great skills washing the doll, you squeeze the
body-wash bottle and gently rubbed the doll’s body. I noticed when I was saying puku you
repeated the each and every part of the body.
What learning is happening?
Observation shows Karam developing understanding of the world around him. It is evident that
you are learning the routines and getting yourself familiar with centre settings and rules. It is also
clear that a stimulating environment is fostering your creativity and supporting to develop your
social skills and building confidence in your verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
