philosophy, an ideology? Or is it something else entirely?

A:The word "yoga" literally means "union"Yoga is an ancient form

of exercise which evolved thousands of years back in the Indian
society and is being practiced continuously since then. It includes
various forms of exercises to keep a person in good shape and to
get rid of various forms of diseases and inabilities. It is also

Q: What is the history of yoga?

A: In the yogic culture, Shiva is not known as a god, but as the

Adiyogi or the first yogi – the originator of yoga. He was the one
who first put this seed into the human mind. According to the
yogic lore, over fifteen thousand years ago, Shiva attained to his
full enlightenment and abandoned himself in an intense ecstatic
dance upon the Himalayas. When his ecstasy allowed him some
movement, he danced wildly. When it became beyond movement,
he became utterly still. The Adiyogi brought this possibility that a
human being need not be contained in the defined limitations of
our species. There is a way to be contained in physicality but not
to belong to it.

Q: What are the types of yoga?

A:These are the only four yogic ways you can get somewhere:
either through karma, gnana, bhakti or kriya – body, mind,
emotion, or energy. It is just that in one person the heart may be
dominant, in another person the head may be dominant, in yet
another person the hands may be dominant, but everybody is a
combination of these four. So you need a combination of these
four. It is just that, only if it is mixed in the right way for you, it
works best for you. What we give for one person, if it is given to
you.
