Reflection on lesson plan Letter C

This is my first observation teaching English subject Phonics letter C in KG 2 in Sama

American Private School. I want to talk about what I did well through this lesson it will be as a

strong point. First, I follow step by step what I did in my lesson plan such as follows the

classroom rules, provide extra materials for the centers like getting the real materials that start

with letter c (Carrot, Cat, Car, and Coat). So this way assist children to understand well the new

letter and sound of it while they are learning. Also, I do the strength when following the

guidelines curriculum that matched with a learning objective. And I’m doing the morning routine

with class by review with them the song day of the week, sing a song hello hello song and dance,

make the reaction when we listen to this song. The strategies I used to encourage children is

using positive words to children who says the answer correct or fast. According to Skinner

theory, he talks about positive behaviorism, and reinforce children behavior to keep doing well in

class by praising them by giving children starts or say a positive word such as a good boy, well

done. (McLeod, 2018).

What I did the weakness in this lesson, I do the morning routine in the classroom but I miss

to count how many students in the class and ask them about what it is the weather today. In

addition, I need to prove for next lesson is to provide a clear instruction when I explain the

activity for children and show them the model how to do it in front of the whole class. That what

I will work on for the next lesson.
