MüCAD Textile CAD

Update Version 3.5: Release Notes
This document contains all major changes and enhancements of MüCAD Version 3.5 in comparison
with MüCAD Version 3.0. The changes described in Service Pack 3.04 are listed here again.

General Functions

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:

Accelerator keys, keyboard shortcuts: are now user-definable, Preference dialog --
individually for all menu items and tools. Stored in local computer registry. "Keyboard Shortcuts"
The reading and converting of MüPROG6 (MP6) DCL files to MüCAD Menu "File" -- "Open as..."
design files has been implemented. -- "From Müprog6 DCL
file..."
The selection of one specific source from multiple TWAIN picture Design Specifications:
sources is now possible. Scan...
The time-consuming scanning for Local Area Network MüCAD Preferences -- Local Area
Databases has been made optional. A preference list displays all LAN Network DBs
databases to be connected at program startup.
Archive on CD / DVD: A big number of new CD and DVD writing devices File archive
are supported by new libraries integrated in MüCAD.
MüCAD has been fully tested for being used under Windows XP.
For saving disk space, the preference dialog offers a checkbox with the Menu "File" --
possibility to save the translated design (PDesign) only if it contains "Preferences..." --
manual corrections. "General".
With no correction points, the translated product can always be
reproduced by means of the textile translation.

Designing, Visualization, Tools

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:

Layer switching: "Shift" key keeps layers which are below the active
layer visible. View: Active Layer...
Design view: Numerical entry dialog for moving and copying selections. Selection tool info dialogs

The "Ctrl" modifier key allows to insert and remove warplines with the Tools: Insert/Remove

The following default view settings have been changed: Design and simulation

Textile Translation Functions

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:

Definable pick sorting within one pick packet. Use selection tool in Menu "Selection" --
design or enter directly in table. Predefined standard sorting for needle "Selected Weftlines

each color, and flags control the setting of binding points which are in a
straight line.

Fabric Density Simulation

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:

A function to simulate the woven fabric density was implemented. The Simulation view: Menu
simulation is calculated from the number of thread crossings per surface "View" - "Show Fabric
unit in the textile product and from the yarn quality of weft and warp. The Density"
view shows the "pressure" in the fabric, in colors from blue (low pressure)
over green (normal pressure) to yellow and red (high pressure).
This function helps to find areas in the fabric where the weave density is
too high and thus causes deformations or makes weaving impossible at
all.

Jacquard File Functions

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:

A new dialog in the Jacquard plan allows easy repeating of labels on the Jacquard plan, Jacquard
Jacquard file level. The tie-up table is created automatically for e.g. page, "Automatic label
changing a 1-repeat pattern to a multi-repeat pattern for a specific repeating with tie-up"

The back translation to design of a Jacquard file has been improved. A
design color layer is created for each weftselector. This makes further Jacquard file view:

The creation of EP files with less than 96 hooks is now possible. JC plan

possible (MüCAD Service Pack 3.04).
A fatal error which had occurred during splitting JC3 and JC4 Jacquard Verdol files, save...
files to various floppy disks was corrected.
The export of Stäubli JC4 files to the Windows file system has been Verdol file: Menu "File" --
implemented. "Export as JC4..."
When Stäubli JC5 files are saved, a dialog allows to choose between Save JC5 file

Jacquard file view: The toolbar of the jacquard file view was added a Jacquard file view
new combo box for the direct selection of the reading JC plan (MüCAD
Service Pack 3.04).
Production Data Printout: On some printers, the printout of production JC File: Menu "View" --
data for Jacquard files did not show the standard Courier font of the "Production Data..." or icon
preview, but a default proportional font. This caused an irregular alignment
of the tables. The font has now been changed to Courier New (true type),
which should display correct-looking tables on almost any printer (MüCAD
Service Pack 3.04).

DIGICOLOR

NEW FUNCTION ACCESSIBLE FROM:
