INTRODUCTION

This task instruction covers:. To supply labour and plant, to diamond floor saw a reinforced
concrete floor slab to a specified length and specified depth.

PPE: Hard hat, Safety boots, Hi Vis jacket, gloves & safety Goggles/Glasses, Ear

Tools : - Petrol Driven 65hp Floor Saw, 600mm diameter blade ,110v Hilti 5kva generator
Hosepipe, Tools, 1no 110v Wet vacuums
Persons: Min. No. 2 Training Task supervisor

PROCEDURE

Description (in clear steps) Photographs/comments


Remove floor saw from trailer and transport to work area

Attend site induction

Obtain work permit


Liaise with Client/ Site manager for marking out of cut lines

Set up temporary water supply and power supplies from on-site

Attach blade and guard to saw

Ensure all areas are clear for saw


Provide ventilation to area

Begin cutting
Cut through slab to required depth

Hoover up slurry created from saw


Break out trenches and stockpile to be cleared to skip

Complete all marked cutting and remove plant from work

Disconnect water and power supplies
Clear remaining debris to site skip

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS

Technical: Note: - All Drilling to be carried out in accordance with the


standards defined in the Drilling and Sawing Association Code of
Safe Practice. All operatives to wear protective boots, gloves, hard
hats, hi-vis and glasses at all times.

Environmental: All arising from Saw Cutting to be taken to a recognised/


authorised disposal site, if not being re-used.
Waste disposal: All arising from Saw Cutting to be taken to a recognised/
authorised disposal site, if not being re-used.
