United Gulf Access is providing a wide range of Haulotte boom and scissor lifts for façade and interior work on the expansion project. One of the models being used is the
H43TPX, a rough-terrain telescopic boom lift ideal for providing maximum horizontal outreach in hard to reach places, while the other is the HA41PX, an articulated boom lift for
applications where up-and-over reach characteristics are required. Both the machines are diesel powered, and the articulated HA41PX also has a turntable that allows for
continuous 360° rotation – making it a versatile tool for reaching a range of hard-to-reach work areas from a single static location. The HA260PX articulated boom lift, is also been

used in building the bridges of the railway station that will connect the airport to the Makkah and Madinah, as part of the countries religious tourism infrastructure. The H18SX and
H15SX electric scissor lifts are being used on interior work for their superior 4WD functionality – equipped with hydraulic differential lock to greatly improves traction on all surfaces.
The heavy-duty Compact 8 scissor lift is meanwhile being used for the installation of electrics, fire sprinklers, false ceiling components and other interior design elements. Haulotte’s
products are distributed in Saudi Arabia through Roots Group Arabia and United Gulf Equipment Rentals.

Project
Background This project involves the expansion of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and will cover an area of 670,000 square metres. Scope of work includes construction of
two new passenger terminals, refurbishment of the existing terminal, a new concourse with 25 contact gates, three connector buildings, additional parking facilities and a new
access road. The upgrade of both landside and airside infrastructure and utilities is also planned. The expansion will relieve growing pressure on KAIA and will also push capacity
from 13 million to 21 million passengers a year. The client is expected to issue an international tender in early 2002 for the contract. Work is expected to commence in the middle of
2002. Netherlands Airport Consultants (NACO) is carrying out a review of the original master plan on this scheme.

Project
Background This project is in Saudi Arabia. Scope of work involves construction of a railway line between Riyadh and Jeddah, plus another line between Dammam and Jubail. The scheme
also covers expansion of the existing Riyadh to Dammam Railway. Once completed, the nation's first link between the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf will see freight speed between
Jeddah and King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam. It is seen as a vital transport link between east Asia and Europe, and will dramatically cut cargo transit times between Asia, Europe
and America via Jeddah's Red Sea port. The design speed of passenger trains is expected to be 250 kilometres per hour and 140 kilometres per hour for freight trains, making the
trip between Dammam and Jeddah around 12 hours for cargo. Several studies on the project covering technical, financial and legal issues have been conducted by highly reputable
organisations on behalf of the Government of Saudi Arabia. The client has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) by November 10, 2002 from reputed world-class International Law
Firms with necessary experience of providing legal advice for comparable railway transactions. The adviser will be required to conduct due diligence, suggest new decrees, rules
and regulations and amend existing ones for regulating the operation of the railway in the private sector, suggest laws governing safety regulations, suggest constitution of bodies
for monitoring the enforcement of rules and regulations, help in the preparation of tender documents, draft legal documents and assist in negotiations with the selected investors. It
is required that the International Law Firm engages or have an on-going association with a reputed and qualified local Saudi Law Firm to perform jointly the required services.
Detailed Terms of Reference will be supplied to the short-listed advisers that would be invited to submit financial proposals.

Background This project involves construction of Kempinski Hotel within the historic core of Madinah in Saudi Arabia and cover a gross floor area of 360,000 square feet. Bounded by King
Faisal Road, it is a hotel for Hajjis who have come to see Islam's second holiest shrine, just two blocks away. The enormous Grand Madinah Mosque's eight minarets dominate the
district, and so the design of the hotel responds to its context by turning all of its windows toward the pilgrim's destination - creating focused bay windowed views of the shrine.
