Over the course of 1-3 classes we will be composing a letter to send to a REAL class
of students in Spain. You are learning Spanish; they are learning English. This means
that both parties will be writing in a foreign language! ¿Qué guay, eh?
**Refer to your Haz Ahoritas and other worksheets if you need a refresher**
Date breakdown -
1st class:
- Go over expectations and rubric
- Read example letter and see if it meets all expectations
- Set up Google Doc
- Start writing letter
2nd class:
- Individual silent work time to continue/finish writing letter
- Check-in with Señorita Liddle
o Progress report: How much more do you have to write?
o Learn something new: What’s something you want to write in the
letter that we haven’t learned yet? I will help you with that!
2nd or 3rd class:
- Individual silent work time to finish writing letter
- Peer reviews
- Review letter and make sure it meets all expectations (using checklist)
- Turn in checklist before leaving class

Checklist If you circled “no” for any of these make sure you make
adjustments to the letter to include the missing
information.
¿Sí o no? Did you include at least one sentence with new vocabulary that
you discussed with Señorita Liddle?
¿Sí o no? Did your letter start and end with an appropriate statement
like “Querido ______”, “Hola ______”, “Chao”, etc?
¿Sí o no? Did you use any translation device (such as Google Translate)
to translate sentences or long phrases?
Did you name you Google Doc using the following structure?
