Scientists from 10 countries meeting degree

in Serpong, Indonesian.
Friday, October 15, 2010.
JAKARTA - MICOM: As many as 60 materials science experts from 10 countries will meet
and exchange experiences in the International Conference Materials Science and
Technology (ICMST) 2010 held in Puspiptek, Serpong, Banten, at 19 to 21 October
2010."In an age of advanced technology, life could not be separated from materials science.
Mobile until the vehicle is very depending of the progress of materials science. We will
discuss the many advances in materials science in this meeting," said Head of Nuclear
Industry Materials National Nuclear Energy Agency ( BATAN) Evvy Kartini in Serpong,
Banten, on Friday (15/10).

Experts from 10 countries include the inventor of the hydrogen storage material of Prof.
Craig M. Jensen of the USA, Prof. Dr. Masatoshi Arai from Japan, Dr. Robert Robinson of
Australia, Prof BVR Chowdari from Singapore, as well as other scientists from Germany,
Holland, India, Thailand, Malaysia , and Vietnam.Meanwhile, from within the country also
will be present 150 experts and scientists who will speak related materials science and
academics from more than 30 universities throughout Indonesia.

Participants who will attend a scientist in the field of materials, physics, chemical
engineering, metallurgy, and has specialized nanotechnology, structural materials, design
materials, polymers, rubber, textiles, biosensors, and others."We often do not realize that the
things we use that are increasingly smaller, lighter and a lot of advantages that are the result
of the findings of materials science, we can see our mobile phones with batteries are
increasingly thin, lightweight, and durable," The celebration committee chairman said.
Scientists inventor made electrically conductive glass by neutron scattering technique was
lamented, Indonesian society is still in its early stages to become consumers, without
knowing what technology is in the goods he was wearing. This meeting, he added, is very
important to exchange experiences on recent discoveries in the world in the field of
materials technology and Indonesia where scientists publish their work internationally.

He said the meeting was regularly held since 1996, called Scientific Meeting of Materials
Science & Technology (PIIB) and held every two years. This is a meeting that was held to
seven and improved to international standards by inviting experts from abroad.
Evvy science suggests the need for diplomacy to hold a major scientific meeting with
limited funds."The professors are willing to come to channel their knowledge with their own
transport and accommodation costs or of the institution. I am very happy that they will
accept our invitation," said nuclear expert whose name is often circulated in a number of
international journals. (Ant/OL-3)
