 Kept a tab on intelligence like strategy, service levels & tariff of competing ports including on own ports
navigational facilities, equipment’s (mechanization, technology/automation), storage and evacuations.

• Developed marketing message and communicated Port as an ideal logistics hub cum service provider to
its natural hinterland.

 Worked for Branding & Promotional activities viz participation in Seminars/Shipping Events /Exhibition

• Designed supply chain solutions for potential business clients including material handling, storage,
distribution and value-added services.

ADANI PORT (APSEZ) (HEAD SALES & MARKETING ) -

 Strategic business modelling in gerating Traffic & utilization of export berth for import cargo handling from

self-geared vessel routing to the yard manually by inter-carting vehicles bypassing export conveyor circuit.

 Targeted at diversifying cargo and customers in the horizon of spot and long term.

 Successful in strategically bringing part of Surplus Coastal thermal Coal Cargo upto 3 MTPA from Paradeep

Port (NTECL, TANGENCO, APGENCO,KPCL,KTPP) on superior port service through utilization of surplus

capacity of export terminal.


 Successful in bringing back Rashmi metallics, Usha Martin, Adhunik Ispat, BRPL, Shyam Metallics, Bengal
Energy, Haldia Energy, Electro steel,Visha steel for coal,coke,pig iron , flux and steel cargo due to single

composite point of contact for service from port authority.( Cargo projected upto 2.0 MTPA).

 Feasibility of 2.0 MTPA fertilizer import berth with bagging as per fertilizer policy for NPK variants after

meeting and assessing IFFCO, PPL, Coromandel fertilizers, Tata Chemical, Jaishree chem (Banguir group)

 Obtained clinker export cargo on annual terms from Bhusan steel.(1.0 MTPA) to Chittagong port(B’desh)

 Surplus capacity at export berth was utilized in handling self geared import vessels cargo volume 1.5MTPA.

 Presented a port blending technical solutions for thermal coal of High grade coal of ECL(G4 grade)with low
grade coal of MCL(G12 grade) at the ratio of 35%:65% achieving required GCV of 4200-4400 Kcal/kg the

 Established long term customer base with committed annual imports by Tata Steel, SAIL, NTPC (Adani

 Strategically brought berthing delayed JSPL Dry Bulk cargo ships with total volume of 0.3 million ton

waiting at Paradeep port during port strike on spot basis enabling them reduce berthing delay.

Preparation of techno economic feasibility Report incorporating traffic study, coal cargo projections, cargo
handling facilities/equipments, logistics model, financial model with projected cash flows, project
scheduling followed by signing of MOU and concession agreement with port authority.

REVENUE STREAM MODEL –ESSAR BEIRA MOZAMBIQUE MULTI USER COAL/ORE PORT 20 MTPA

 Evaluation of RFP for connection of nearby Vale terminal –T-8 through conveyor for cargo security and
port asset utilization and alternately use of essar’s merry-go-round Rail System and storage yard with take
& pay arrangement
 Selection of Transporters, freight forwarders, vessel owners, vessel agents, Border check Post clearing
agents for inbound from neighboring SA. eg Greenrod, Mocargo ,LBH, Manica, Saraf Shipping etc.
 Cargo Security through MoU s with coal miners (6 MTPA) like Rio-Tinto, Vale, Indian consortium
International Coal Ventures Private Limited (ICVL) and Jindal Africa, also Indian-owned, and Minas do
Moatize were signed in the event of commissioning of 1 st phase of multi-user coal terminal of 10MTPA
 Assessment of port channel capacity through DNV(Dredging) & Royal Haskoning for prospective clients.
 Contract Management experience towards floating transfer station (FTS) The floating solution: offshore
transshipment stations for loading coal by Coeclerici Logistics’ for FOB coal cargo export from
Mozambique coal producers for transshipment and feeder vessel supply into Beira Channel max draft of 12
mtr for Panamax 60-80K DWT.
NON-CAPTIVE CARGO FOR ESSAR HAZIRA PORT
 In addition to handling own essar s inbound raw material and Steel FG export and coastal project cargo
from L&T , Reliance, KRIBHCO etc were used to utilize surplus capacity lying idle.
 Cargo visibility handled diversified cargo by increasing the cargo spread to lime stone , slag, pellets, HBI
and steel and fertilizer in near future in addition to coal and ore.
 Investments Planned out in ICDs, CFS, logistic parks with strategic partners.

PORT OIL STORAGE TANKAGES BUSINESS SOLUTION: ESSAR OIL VADINAR


 Sea Borne Crude & Refined White Oil-Lubricants Trades and Storages with Respective to Fujairah,
Singapore, Rotterdam etc. Competitive advantages of Vadinar Storage Tankages solutions to Global oil
traders like Vitol, Glencore , Vopak, Trafigura, MOL group etc. contango and normal backwardation.
 Applicable Regulations like DTA, SEZ, Re-Export legislations and rules, Taxation study both Indirect and
Direct and other Commercial Regulatory issues.
ESSAR STEEL MINNESSOTA LLC (TACOMA PORT)- A STRATEGIC BUSINESS DECISION

- RFP for Development of new export bulk terminal in Tacoma Port as an Iron Ore Export Port and Joint
feasibility Study was done along with Metro Port .

- Setting up of SOPs for Marketing and Operations for various Dry bulk cargoes.
