1 These are the esoteric sayings that the living Jesus spoke and Judas Thomas the twin

wrote down.
And he said, "Whoever finds the inner meaning of these sayings shall not taste death."

2.
Jesus said, “The seeker should not stop searching until he finds, and when he finds he will suffer,
and when he suffers he will be astonished and will be king over everything, and having become
king he will find rest.”

3.
Jesus said, “If those who lead you should say to you, ‘Look, the kingdom is in the air,’ then the
birds of the air will be first, coming before you. If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish of
the sea will be first, coming before you. But the kingdom is within you and outside of you. When
you know yourselves then you will be known and will find it, and you will discover that you are
sons of the living father. But if you do not know yourselves then you are impoverished and you are
poverty.”.

4.
Jesus said, "The old man should not delay in asking a little seven days child about the place of Life,
and then that man will be alive. For the many who are first shall be last, and the last first, and they
shall become a unity."

5.
Jesus said, Recognise what is in front of your face, and what is hidden will be revealed to you. For
there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed, [and nothing buried that shall not be raised up. ]

6
His students questioned him, they said to him, “Do you want us to fast? How should we pray?
Should we give to the poor? What foods should we eat?”
Jesus said, Do not lie and do not do what you hate, for in the presence of truth all outward things are
revealed. For there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed, and nothing covered can continue
unless it is exposed.

7.
Jesus said, “Blessed is the lion that the man consumes, and the lion becomes man. And cursed is the
man that the lion consumes, and the lion becomes man.”

8.
And he said, “The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea; then he drew it up
from the sea, full of little fish from below. Among them he found one good large fish. So he threw
all of the little fish back down into the sea without regret. Whoever has ears to listen, let him listen.”

9.
Jesus said, “Look, the sower came out, filled his hand and cast the seed. Some seed fell against the
road; the birds came and gathered them. Others fell onto rock, and did not send roots down to earth
or ears rising up to heaven. And others fell on thorns that choked the seed, and worms ate them. And
some others fell upon good earth and gave good grain up to heaven; it came up sixty and one
hundred and twenty per measure.”

10.
Jesus said, “I have set fire to the earth and, look, I am watching it until it burns.”

11.
Jesus said, "This heaven will pass away and the one above it will pass away. Those who are dead do
not live and those who are living will not die. When you consumed what is dead you made it alive.
When you are in the light, what will you do? When you were a unity, you split into two; now you
are two, what will you do?"

12.
His students said to Jesus, “We know that you will leave us. Which of us will become great?”
Jesus said to them, “Wherever you have come from, go to James the Righteous, for whom heaven
and earth came to be.”

13.
Jesus said, “Compare me to someone, and tell me who I am like.”
Simon Peter said to him, “You are a righteous angel.”
Matthew said to him, “You are a wise philosopher.”
Thomas said to him, “Master, my mouth will not allow me to say what you are.”
Jesus said, “I am not your master; because you drank from the bubbling spring that I have poured
out, you have become intoxicated.”
And he took him, withdrew, and spoke three things to him. When Thomas came back to his
companions they asked him, “What did Jesus say to you?”
He said to them, “If I tell you one of the things he told me, you will take up stones and throw them
at me, and fire will come out of the stones and burn you.”

14.
Jesus said to them, "If you fast, you will bring sin on yourselves, and if you pray you will be
condemned, and if you give to the poor you will injure your spirits When you go into a country and
walk in its lands, if you are received, then eat whatever they put before you. Heal those among them
who are sick. For what goes into your mouth will not corrupt you, but what comes out of your
mouth will corrupt you."

15.
Jesus said, "When you look upon the one who was not born of woman, throw yourself on your face
and worship him, for he is your father."
16.
Jesus said, "Perhaps people think that I have come to bring peace to the world, and they do not
know that I have come to bring division to the earth - fire, a sword, war. For there will be five in a
house; three will be against two and two against three, the father against the son and the son against
the father. And the unified ones will rise up."

17.
Jesus said, “I shall give you what no eye has looked upon and no ear has listened to, what no hand
has touched, and what has not been revealed to the heart of man.”.

18.
His students said to Jesus, “Tell us of our end, how will it be?”
Jesus said, “Have you found the beginning so that you are searching for the end? For the end will be
in the same place as the beginning. Blessed is he who will rise up in the beginning, and he will
know the end, and he will not taste death.”

19.
Jesus said, “Blessed is he who exists from the beginning before he comes to be. If you are my
students and listen to my words, these stones will become your servants. For you have five trees in
Paradise, which do not move in summer or in winter, and their leaves do not fall down. Whoever
knows them will not taste death.”

20.
His students said to Jesus, “Tell us what the kingdom of Heaven is like.”
He said to them, “It is like a mustard seed, which is smaller than all other seeds; but when it falls on
earth that has been worked on, it sends out a great branch which becomes a shelter for the birds of
the air.”

21.
Mary said to Jesus, "What do your students resemble?"
He said, "They are like little children staying in a field which is not theirs. When the lords of the
field come back, they will say, "Give our field back to us." So they will strip naked in their
presence, and they will give the field back to them. Therefore I say, if the Lord of the house realises
that the thief is coming, he will keep watch before he comes, and not allow him to dig from beneath
into the house, which is his kingdom, so that he take his goods. So you must keep watch from the
Beginning of the world. Prepare yourself with great strength, so that the thieves do not discover a
way to get to you. For if you look outwards for help they will discover it. Let a man of
understanding be within you. When the grain split open, he came in a hurry, his sickle in his hand,
and reaped it. Whoever has an ear to listen, let him listen.

22.
Jesus looked at some little ones taking milk. He said to his students, “These little ones taking milk
are like those who go in to the kingdom.”
They said to him, “Then will we, as little ones, go into the kingdom?”
Jesus said to them, “When you make the two into one, and when you make the inside like the
outside, and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male
and female into a unity, so that the male is not male and the female is not female; when you make
some eyes in place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, an image
in place of an image, then you will go in to the kingdom.”

23.
Jesus said, “I will choose you, one out of one thousand and two out of ten thousand, and they will
rise up, becoming a single unity.”

24.
His students said, "Show us the place from which you live, for we need to seek it."
He said to them, "Whoever has ears, let him listen. Light exists within a man of light and he
becomes light for the whole world; if he does not become light, he is darkness."

25.
Jesus aid, “Love your brother like your own soul. Watch over him like the pupil of your own eye.”

26.
Jesus said, “You see the splinter in your brother's eye, but you do not see the plank in your own.
When you remove the plank from your own eye, then you will see out so that you can remove the
splinter from your brother's eye.”

27.
Jesus said, If you do not fast from the world, you will not find the Kingdom. If you do not make the
Sabbath into a day of rest you will not look upon your Father."

28.
Jesus said, "I rose up within the world and I appeared outwardly to them in the flesh. I found them
all drunk and I found none of them thirsty, and my soul was pained for the sons of men, for they are
blind in their hearts and do not look outwards. For they came into the world empty, and seek also to
go out of the world empty. But now they are drunk. When they shake off their wine their hearts will
change."

29.
Jesus said, "If the flesh was created because of the spirit, it is a wonder; but if spirit is produced
because of the body it is a wonder of wonders. I myself marvel how this great wealth was placed
within this poverty."
30.

[Split the wood and I am there; pick up the stone and you will find me there.]”

cannot fall, but neither can it be hidden.”

33.

puts it under a bush, or hides it. Instead, he puts it on the lamp stand, so that whoever goes in and
comes out will look upon its light.”

34.
Jesus said, "If a blind man leads a blind man, the two of them will fall down into a pit."

35.
Jesus said, There is no way that anyone can go into the house of a strong man and take him by
force, unless he bind the strong man's hands; then he can remove him from his house.

36.
Jesus said, "Do not care from morning to evening and from evening to morning what food you
should eat or what clothing you will put on yourselves. You are much greater than the lilies that
neither comb wool nor spin it. When you have no clothing, what will you wear? Who can add to the
length of your life? It is he who will give you your clothing."

37.
His students said, “When will you be revealed to us, and when will we look upon you?”
Jesus said, “When you strip yourselves naked without being ashamed, and you take off your
clothing and put it under your feet, like small children, and you trample on it, then you will look
upon the son of the living one and you will not be afraid.”.

38.
Jesus said, “Many times you have wanted to hear these words that I say to you, and you had no one
to hear them from. The days will come when you will search for me and not find me.”

39.

Jesus aid, “Be a passer-by.”

43.
His students said to him, “Who are you that you can say these things to us?”

forgiven, neither on earth nor in heaven.”

45.
Jesus said, "Grapes are not harvested from thorns, nor are figs gathered from thistles, for they give

things out of his treasure, which is wicked and which is in his heart, and so he says evil things; for
from the contents of his heart he brings out evil things."

46.

Baptist that he should not lower his eyes. But I have said that whoever among you should become a
little one will know the kingdom, and will be raised up above John.”

47.
Jesus said, “No one can climb on to two horses or stretch two bows; no servant can serve two
masters, for he will honour the one and despise the other. No one drinks old wine and immediately
wants the new. And new wine isn't poured into old skins in case they split open, and so old wine
isn't poured into new skins in case they are destroyed. Old patches are not sewed onto new clothes,
because they will split.”

48.
Jesus said, “If two make peace with each other in the one house, they will say to the mountain,

light, from that place where the light exists in itself. It rose up and revealed utself in their image.'
If they should say to you, 'Are you this light?' say, 'We are its sons and we are the chosen of the
living father.'
If they ask you, 'What is the sign of your father within you?' say to them, 'It is movement and rest.'”

51.

them their orders; I ask to be let off the dinner.' He went to another one and said to him, 'My lord is
calling for you.' He said, 'I have bought a house and I am needed for the day. I shall not be able to
rest.' He went to another one and said to him, 'My lord has called for you.' He said, 'My friend is
getting married and I am making the dinner. I cannot come. I ask to be let off your dinner.' He went
to another and said, 'My lord is calling for you.' He said, 'I have bought a farm; I am going to collect
the rent. I cannot come. I ask to be let off.' The servant came and spoke to his lord. 'Those that you

killed him. The servant went and said to his lord, 'Perhaps they did not know me.' He sent another
