Mr. Khounmeuang’s [Class Name] Syllabus

[School Year]

Grading will be an important part for in this class. I want to mention that grades do not define you.
If you are failing or you get a grade you don’t like, it does NOT mean you are dumb. I believe in you
and I know you will pass this course!
Weight
Tests (x3) There will be one test per unit. Each test will cover the material for that particular unit.
Projects (x3)
Occasionally, there will be projects students will have to do. Projects will have new
and old material, so it important for students to remember information from the
beginning of the semester!
Quizzes (x2) Students will have 1-2 quizzes per unit. These quizzes will assess what students have
learned up to a particular point. It is important for students to do well as it affects the
outcome for the next few days after the quiz.
In-Class In-class assignments will also be graded for completion. These may include scavenger
Assignments (x1) hunts, coloring activities, task cards, or worksheets.
Homework (x1) Most homework assignments will be graded for completeness. Occasionally,
“homework quizzes” will be given at the beginning of the period where I pick 2-3
problems in the homework set and ask students to copy their answer to a new sheet of
paper. This will be graded for correctness and may not be announced. Homework will
be graded on a 10 point scale.
