Escaping Nazi’s Inquiry Proposal

Overview

Our short inquiry project takes a magnified look into the experience of those who were

forced into running from the Nazi’s during World War Two. Most people have learned the

stories of the concentration camps and people who escaped or survived from those, but we never

get into those whose lands were taken or were close to be taken, and how they dealt with that.

Our goal is to answer the question of what their whole experience was. We got interested in this

topic because Lauren’s great great grandparents lived in Poland and had to flee when the Nazi’s

invaded. At the time Lauren’s great great grandparents owned a farm with horses, and these

horses were taken by the Nazi’s, along with all their land.

Project Plan

Our overall plan with this project is to integrate all of our background knowledge and

new research knowledge into a PowerPoint presentation that will explain the experiences of

those who had to escape the Nazi’s. We are going to utilize our own technology, our families, the

school’s library resources, and online sources to complete our research and presentation. We

plan to integrate our research into the presentation with slides covering the start of Nazi
invasions, who and what areas were targeting, and examples/stories of those impacted. We plan

to give thorough visuals throughout the presentation to help further explain our information. Our

goal is to have a well detailed but concise presentation that brings further awareness to this

event, and allow others to gain knowledge about it.

Justification

Our proposed plan is effective for our topic because we have the resources necessary to

find and present valid information in an effective way, and it is appropriate because as an inquiry

project it will be focused around questions, research, and presenting information. The audience

should care about our topic because it goes deep into another side of the beginning of World War

Two that people do not really hear about. We usually just hear about the Jewish people trying to

escape and hide, but we need to remember there were other people who were affected as well.

This topic will give everyone a new perspective on the Nazi invasions of Europe, but also

different types of people who were impacted, particularly non-Jews.

Conclusion

different events of the war besides the Holocaust, and that they’ll be encouraged to look into it.
