II. Project Site : 3F Feliza Building, 108 V.A.Rufino St. Legaspi Village,
Makati City
III. Project Beneficiaries : 200 Officers and Members of the SANOFI Aventis
Employees Union
VII. Background
The SANOFI Aventis Employees Union (SAEU) is a labor organization duly registered with
the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with Registration No. NCR-PMFO-UR-
03-2013-001 and has been in existence of good standing. It is composed of 200 regular
employees of SANOFI Aventis located in Makati City. The primary purpose of SAEU is to
promote the general welfare and well-being of its members
In pursuit of its objectives, the officers and members of the SAEU are seeking the
financial assistance of the DOLE NCR Makati Pasay Field Office to be able to embark on a
1
business venture of their own, enabling them to earn income to sustain its operations
while providing quality and affordable basic commodities to its members and other
employees. Embarking on this project is also crucial in building the organizational and
financial capacity of SAEU.
VIII. Objectives
1. To build & strengthen the capacity of the SAEU by starting and engaging in a business
undertaking and earn income to sustain the operations of the union
The SAEU will provide/distribute frozen goods to members and employees via online
orders and will be delivered on fixed delivery dates in a month for pick up of members.
This makes shopping convenient while affording the members and employees to
purchase quality and affordable products. Goods on sale are frozen meat, consumed by
members and employees as well as their families on a regular basis. Products are sold
either cash or salary deduction, allowing easy payment terms to members and
employees.
X. Marketing Aspect:
The target market are the 200 members of SAEU and other employees of SANOFI
Aventis. It is a huge captured market and is expected to highly patronize the business as
shopping is made convenient while payment terms is made through salary deductions
and easy installments.
All goods for sale are based on demand and already finished products which meet high
standards of quality including packaging. All are sourced directly from
traders/distributors hence prices are competitive with supermakets and other
commercial outlets. Suppliers deliver the goods in bulk, free of charge, to SAEU. This
affords SAEU to save on time and money for handling and transport costs. All these will
be beneficial to SAEU as this will help lower the costs of goods and enable them to
sell/distribute goods on a cheaper and competitive prices.
It is recommended that prior to the release of the consumer items and upon request of
SAEU, the beneficiaries should be oriented on the project management scheme
including reportorial requirements. It is also important to note that the technical
assistance in the areas of product information, business management and record-
keeping should also be extended to the SAEU, preferably by DOLE or the supplier of
goods.
The proposed Project Management Team will act as an oversight committee and will be
composed of the following:

Estimated profit:
The SAEU intends to sell the products with a margin from 5-12% (average: 8.5%) thus it
is estimated that the average gross profit per month is P31,875.00 (assuming 75% of
total of P500,000 worth of goods are sold or calculated as P500,000.00 x 75% x 8.5% or
for a total annual gross profit of P382,500.00 (P31,875.00 x 12 months). This indicates a
high return on total investment, estimated at 50-60%. This means over half of the
overall investment can be recovered on its first year of operation.
