Wertheim describes in the article how Adderall is overused in a college campus and how
athletes also use it to make them play better. This article contains a quote that I use as a
pivotal point in my inquiry it is by Roger Cohen he wrote in The New York Times,
"Adderall has become to college what steroids are to baseball: an illicit performance
enhancer for a fiercely competitive environment." The author has been a sports journalist
since 1996 for Sports Illustrated. This is useful to my research because it shows how
much Adderall is getting abused and also different ways besides studying.
Farah, Martha, et al. “When We Enhance Cognition with Adderall, Do We Sacrifice Creativity?
A Preliminary Study.” Psychopharmacology, vol. 202, no. 1–3, Jan. 2009, pp. 541–547.

This is a preliminary study about if we use Adderall to enhance attention but do, we lose
Pennsylvania and has a PhD. This is useful to my inquiry because I am interested on how
Adderall really makes you feel. Adderall makes me feel like less of a person, so I can
Definitely see how it interferes with creativity. This study really gives a new idea of how

This is an academic journal about the use of Adderall as a study enhancer which is one of
the main points of my inquiry. The author is Jeffrey Maahs who has a Ph.D. and is a

This is an academic journal about why students feel the need to use prescription
stimulants and it actually explains how the drugs actually work and what they do for your
brain. The author is Dor David Abelman who is a researcher at Western University.
This journal gives great information about what the medicine does to the body and how
it becomes abusive.

The author is a writer who has had jobs such as editor in chief of Medicine & Health

and staff writer for The Scientist. In this article, it takes about how ADHD can be
overprescribed and stimulants can be given out to easily. One of the main things I wanted
to focus on in my paper is how this a problem and this article has great information to
back it up. It also brings up the topic how misdiagnose tics are very common when
diagnosing someone with ADHD which is also something I wanted to infringe on.

This is a New York Times article about a 15-year-old girl who does not feel like herself
when she is on this medicine. This is one of the most important things I wanted to
address in my essay because I feel the exact same way and I want to know how it affects
others. The author is a 15-year-old Miami sophomore who has the experience of being on
Adderall.
