INTERPRETATION OF RESULT
The objective A based on the table shows that the value of the resistance measured using
the multimeter is not the same as the computed value in the resistor, it have a small percentage
error. It is because electric components are built with tolerance where a resistor can have a 1%,
2% or 5% tolerance and measuring with in that range is acceptable, having more than 5%
tolerance means the resistor is in bad shape. The capacitor provided have a miniature value that
made use of engineering symbols such as nano and micro that would make us switch function in
the multimeter.

Objective B and C result based on the preliminary data sheet covers the usage of
oscilloscope and function generator. By connecting the two equipment the digital screen of
oscilloscope and setting the equipment to auto, it would display a graph or wave describing the
electrical signal received. Two types of waves was formed, one is a box-like graph and a sinusoidal
wave. Values displayed in the screen is recorded and one by one questions are filled up. Knobs on
the equipment are turned counter clockwise and clockwise, and button are pressed to modify
the graph. By observing changes are noticed. Rotating the Volt/Div would alter the wave bigger
and smaller. Rotating the Sec/Div make it compress and expand. Making changes in the setting
of the oscilloscope would affect the wave, such that altering the frequency setting from 1Hz to
100kHz would change the look of the graph.

CONCLUSION
• Able to be familiarize with the names and looks of the equipment in the laboratory.

• Gained knowledge and experience handling the laboratory equipment such as oscilloscope,
digital multimeter, function generator, alligator cable, oscilloscope test probe and
component board.

• Absorbed intellect in using the laboratory equipment.

• Learned the tuning and analyzing the result of the oscilloscope as the experiment is
happening.

• Understood and learned measuring resistors and capacitors using the lab equipment.

• Able to visualize and analyze result of the waveforms shown in using the oscilloscope.

• Utmost care and following guidelines are strictly implemented to avoid accidents in handling
the equipment.

• Had fun in trial and error in using the experiment.
