1. Introduction

This PTZ camera controller is capable of controlling up to 255 PTZ dome cameras. The
keyboard has 3-D joystick for PTZ control, and dedicated buttons for OSD, Auto Pan and
Patten functions. The multiple-protocols allowing users to integrate our products into
existing systems of the other brands and to extend the system compatibility and
connectivity.

3. Installation

This Keyboard uses an RS-485 half-duplex wiring; the signal is transferred


via a single twisted pair line.

4.2 Back Panel Function

To tie the signal ground of each

5. Keyboard System Setting

Before using this keyboard to control speed dome.


All the keyboard setup have to confirm with speed
dome (such as protocol, Baud rate, and Terminator
Resistor.. etc).
Controller Main Setup:
a. Press and hold menu button for 3 sec to activate
the Keyboard system setup menu. The LED light
(next to menu button) will turn on when you are in
menu mode.
b. To move between the options, use the number
button 2 for upward and 8 for downward.
c. To change the value of the settings, use the number button 6 for rightward and
4 for leftward.
d. To exit the menu, press the exit button. LED light will turn off.

5.1 Protocol
Select the protocol type of the operation mode.
Support: Pelco D, Pelco P, Lilin, Dynacolor, Hunda and Samsung

5.2 Baud rate


Select the Baud rate of the operation mode.
Support 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 115200

5.3 Terminator
In order to prevent the attenuation of communication signals between
controller and camera. When using parallel connection, the first and last
terminator should be turned ON, and the mid one should be turned OFF to
keep best transmission status.
P.S. Highly recommend to set the keyboard as first or last of the connection.

5.4 Buzzer
To turns the sound of controller buttons on or off.

5.5 Password Change


a. Press the menu button
b. Input old password (Default 1111), then press menu button to enter.
c. Input new password, then press menu button to save.

5.6 To Lock keyboard


The keyboard can be locked for your security protection. When the keyboard is
locked, all the button will not function.
Lock keyboard:
a. Press the menu button.
b. Input password (Default 1111), then press menu to lock the keyboard
Unlock keyboard:
a. Press any button.
b. Input password (Default 1111), then press menu to unlock the keyboard

5.7 Factory Default


Resets the controller’s current settings to the factory release default values.
a. Press the menu button.
b. Input password (Default 1111), then press menu to reset setting to default
values.

6. Controlling PTZ Camera

6.1 Initial Screen Display


After power on the keyboard, the LCD will show Pelco -D 2400bps
the current Protocol, Baud and Firmware Version : XXX
version for three second.
a. Cam: Indicates the current Camera ID number (Default 001).
b. Preset: Indicates the current Preset position (Default 000).

6.2 Camera OSD


Shows the camera’s OSD menu on the monitor screen.
a. To enter the OSD menu, press the menu button.
The LED light (next to menu button) will turn on
and LCD will show “OSD MODE” when you are
in camera OSD mode.
b. To move the menu cursor upward, downward,
leftward, or rightward, use the Number 2, 4, 6,
8 Buttons.
c. OK Button(Number 5) : Performs the Enter
function in the OSD menu.
d. To exit the menu, press the exit button. LED light
will turn off.

6.3 NUMERIC Key


0~9: Numeric keypad for numeric entries
Clear: a. Clear the input numeric
b. Delete Preset position (see 6.9)

6.4 Camera Select


a. Using the number pad, enter a number

b. Press camera button to confirm the camera ID


the LCD will show “Cam: xxx”, then you can start

control that camera.

c. Camera IDs are between 1 to 255.

6.5 Joystick Operation

a. Pan-tilt control
Move the joystick up / down for tilting, left /
right for panning. The wider you move the
stick, the faster the camera will go.
b. Zoom in-out
The joystick can be used to control Speed
Dome Camera's zoom in and zoom out
function.
Joystick turn clockwise to zoom in.
Joystick turn counter-clockwise to zoom out.

6.6 Pan/ tilt fine tuning

This keyboard support fine control of camera position.


When you tap the ←, →, ↑, ↓cursor keys( F1, F2, F3, F4), the camera will

move the smallest step which the


camera can provide.

6.7 Camera Focus control

Press the FOCUS -/+ button to control camera focus.


a. focus - : Focus gets nearer.
b. focus + : Focus gets further.
c. auto: camera auto adjust.

6.8 Camera Iris control


To adjust the camera's screen brightness, use the + and - buttons.

a. Iris + : Brighter (Iris Open)

b. Iris -: Darker (Iris Close)

6.9 Preset
Setting Up Preset Location
a. Using the joystick and controller buttons, move Cam 001 Preset 000
the camera to a desired location. Save Preset XXX
b. Enter a preset number.
c. Hold down the preset button for 2 seconds to save the
preset location. LCD will show “Save Preset xxx”

Moving camera to Preset Location


a. Enter the number of a preset location.
b. Press the preset button to move the camera to the preset location.

Delete Preset position Cam 001 Preset 000


a. Enter the number of a preset location Clear Preset XXX
b. Hold down the clear button for 2 seconds to delete the
preset location. LCD will show “Clear Preset xxx”

PS. You can select preset numbers from 1 to 255 using the controller. The
maximum preset location number depending on the camera.

6.10 Pattern
Activate Patten
a. Enter a pattern number (1~9).
b. Press pattern button. LCD will show “xxx PATTERN-RUN”

Stop Pattern
a. Press pattern button. LCD will show “PATTERN STOP”

6.11 Auto Run


Activate auto-run
a. Enter a number (1~10). Auto-run mode please see Table 2.
b. Press auto-run button. LCD will show which auto run mode has been
activated now.

Stop auto-run
a. Press auto-run button. LCD will show “AUTO PAN STOP”

P.S. The way to activate auto-run mode may different when you use different
camera or different protocol.

9. Appendix B: Uses with Li-Lin or DynaColor system

When you use Li-Lin or DynaColor system, the F1~F4 button have special function. Please check out the interdiction as
follow:
1. Li-Lin:
F1: Setting Preset Speed
Enter a number from 1~255 then press the F1 button to set the Speed value.
F2: Setting Dwell time
Enter a number from 1~255 then press the F2 button to set the Dwell value.
F3: No function
F4: Setting Preset Group
Enter a number (1~4) then press the F4 button to setting Preset Group.
*To setup all group in one time, enter 5 then press the F4 button.

2. DynaColor :
AUTOPAN LINE Setup:
START POINT
Move the dome to <START POINT> then press the F3 button.
END POINT
Move the dome to <END POINT> then press the F4 button.
SPEED
Enter a number from 1~4 then press the F1 button to set the Speed value. The speed is adjustable from 10 ~
45 degree/sec.
