My name is Mariam Juma Alaleeli, am a kindergarten teacher in Sama American 1

school. I enjoy reading novels, participate in the events and spending time with children
doing activities. My target is to establish a cooperative community between parents,
school and teachers.
I have studied in Shariah Women's college and graduated with a bachelor's degree in
early childhood education. Moreover, I have IELT's certificate with band 6. My
background perfectional is I trained in government and private school for certain periods
where I develop my teaching style, gather effective strategies and build my professional.

My methodology based on learning through playing approach. I can say 2

confidently, that an excellent teacher who provide opportunity to encourage children
to learn and play as a same time because without any doubt using this strategy assist
children to receive a great benefits such as, develop students fundamental skills like
fine and motor skills when the children use their small and big muscle to take the
equipment and improve language when they interact with their friend and talk.
Furthermore, it encourages children to make sense of the world around them through
discovery. As Piaget’s explained that “Learning through play, appears to be a simple
My Teaching philosophy

What do I except from the child? 3

1. Respect the teacher and follow classroom rules which include, line up quietly, raise your hand if you want to speak
etc.
2. Follow the direction what I mean is child listen to my instructions and do what they supposed to do. A typical
example, when a requesting student to complete the task and homework thus, they must complete it.
3. Develop their seven learning areas which are social, understanding the words, physical, mathematical etc. while they
are doing the activities, interact with materials and respond to me and their friends.
4. Fell confidence and happy in the classroom environment by providing a suitable area where they can work and learn
without feeling fear. Froebel claimed that “classroom should be a prepared environment.” (Spielgaben, 2013)
What do I expect from the parent?
1. Follow school rules and policies.
2. Support their children weakness at home through doing multiple
activities with them.
3. Attend parent meeting to be aware of child needs and
understand children academic performance at school.
4. Inform the teacher if the child had a health issues ("What Parents," 2011).

My expectations

Positive reinforcement: Implant this approach by praising children by saying “good job, 4
excellent, etc.”, request children to clip their hand for the child also or give children happy
face or star when they did anything good like answer questions, follow the classroom rules
etc. to encourage children to repeat same attitude. As Skinner said, “Behavior which is
reinforced tends to be repeated” (McLeod, 2018).
Model behavior: By showed children a right behavior in front of them so, they have the
opportunity to observe the behavior and turned to imitate it. According to Bandura “child had
the ability to perform the behavior that the model has just demonstrated.” (Shirley & Peter,
2011, p. 53).

Establish routines: create a daily routine and set up the schedule which indicate what class
dose children have in each period. For instance, at 10:00 they have math class. Routines is
assist all teachers to make the class run smoothly and make sour that no time wasted when the
children wonder what they should be doing during times of transition between activities.
Rehearse transitions: There are multiple methods to apply this technique. Firstly, line up by
request children to line up to move from area to other or from class to other class. Secondly,
tide up which ask student to clean up and return the materials back to keep the class tide.

Classroom Management Strategies:

Individual dry erase board strategy: Provide boards, markers and eraser 5
and give each child. Ask children questions and request them to write their
Formative assessment

answer in the boards and raise it up to show to me thus, I will be able to

know the children know the answer and who don’t.
Colored cards strategy: Put in each table, three cards with different colors
(one red, one yellow, and one green) each color indicate certain meaning.
For example, the green card for understanding and get the concept, yellow
card means little confused, and red card mean don't understand at all. A
student raises the card based on their understanding, If the child gets the
concept of the lesson, as a result, her\she will raise the green card.
Nevertheless, if the child faces difficulty in understanding the topic he\ she
will raise red

method (Lambert,

I will create
Summative assessment

files with their name, grade and child photo in the cover page. The files
consider a place to save and collect student work which includes their
worksheet, homework and draw. The files will be in a safe corner in the
classroom. (Egan, 2014, p. 3).
Quiz: A short test that include questions to test students understanding over
certain period.

Assessment Strategies:
6
1- Send Letters: I used to use this strategy to tell parent what their
children have and keep families aware of what children doing.
Nevertheless, I use letter to take parent approval for children
participation and going to trips. (DiJohn, 2005, pp. 23).

2- Phone call: I go for this strategy in emergency situation only. For

example, if the child is special need and he\ she is sick or have an issue
I directly call his\her parent to keep them in picture. (DiJohn, 2005, pp.
22).

3- Daily meeting: everyday parent brining their children in the morning

and pick them in the end of school, so I have opportunity to talk with
the parent about children performance in the school, weakness and
strength point as well. (DiJohn, 2005, pp. 20).

4- Social Media: it's an excellent avenue to keep attached to families easily

and fast as well. Without any doubt, all teachers want to share student
work and activities with their parent, therefore I personally prefer
WhatsApp to send the direct message to the parent if there is any
homework or event and send children pictures. (DiJohn, 2005, pp. 18).

How I comment with parent?

1- Parent meeting, where teachers and parent can discuss 7
the child strength and weakness as well, make a decision
to develop child academic performance, shar daily
experience and show the assessment and child profile.
(Edutopia & Communities, n.d.).

2- Invite families to participate in school events. For

instance, send a letter to the parent in Flag Day to come
and join the event where they can do activities and dance
with their kids. (Edutopia & Communities, n.d.).
3- School website, which provided all basic information
like school curriculum, police, news, events and gallery
where they motivate the parent to have a deep
understanding about everything related to the school
(Edutopia & Communities, n.d.). Our school website:
http://samaschool.ae/
4- Assign homework that requires parent involvement. For
instance, doing procedural writing, ‘cook with mom", so
2- here the families get the opportunity to share the school
activity and task with the children. (Edutopia &
Communities, n.d.).
