Reflecting on the seventeen years since our first amoured vehicles event in 2001, we’ve seen the rapid evolution of land power doctrine. 2001 was the
start of an extended period of counter-insurgency and counter-terror fighting, leading to the rapid acquisition of armoured vehicles, innovation in
counter-IED technology and the proliferation of unmanned aerial systems. Now in 2018, we see the emergence of multi-domain concepts of operation,
a reorientation towards high-end peer conflict and the aggressive pursuit of disruptive technologies in AI and Robotics, which are sure to revolutionise
and re-energise debate within the land forces community – not least, the armoured vehicles market.

International Armoured Vehicles is the foremost annual meeting that drives this debate – providing a comprehensive dialogue on everything armoured
vehicle related from the geostrategic issues shaping doctrine, to the challenges of MRO, lifecycle management and active procurement programmes,
through to the next generation of ‘optionally manned’ combat vehicles. Put simply, over four days, military practitioners, research & development
leaders, acquistion specialists and partners from industry will meet to discuss the full range of emerging technologies and changing CONOPS
impacting the sector, and how to prepare for challenges to 2035 and beyond.

General Sir Adrian Bradshaw, KCB, OBE

Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (2014-2017)

General Sir Adrian Bradshaw joined the 14th/20th King’s Hussars in 1980. As a junior officer he served in Germany, N.
Ireland, Africa, the Middle East, South East Asia and the Falkland Islands. 1994-1996, he commanded the King’s Royal
Hussars (KRH), first providing the enemy force at the UK Armoured Training Area in Alberta, Canada, and then as Battlegroup
Commander on operations in Bosnia.

After command, he went on to the UK Higher Command and Staff Course, and served in Military Operations in the MOD. On
promotion to brigadier, he went to 3rd (US) Army in Kuwait, planning for Land operations in Iraq. He then became Deputy
Commander of US Task Force West in the Iraq region before Commanding the UK 7th Armoured Brigade in Iraq.

In Mar 09, he took command of 1st (UK) Armoured Division based in Germany, training brigades for operations in Afghanistan. He has since attended
the US Army Strategic Leadership Programme (Advanced) and the US Joint Pinnacle Course. He became Deputy Commander of ISAF in Afghanistan
in late 2011 and Commander UK Land Forces in Jan 2013. General Bradshaw served in the capacity of DSACEUR from Mar 2014 to Mar 2017.

21 JANUARY – MRO & RETROFIT | IN-SERVICE SUPPORT

A day divided into two. The MRO & Retrofit track will open with a Keynote Address from General Griffin Spoon Phiri, Commander, Malawi
Defence Forces and feature a selection of other briefers from nations concentrating on updating, maintaining and modernising their armoured
vehicle fleets. Briefers will also touch upon upgrade requirements for contested and degraded environments and challenges aro und logistical
support to ensure an efficient and cost-effective stock of spares. The In-Service Support track will be moderate d by Major General Robert
Talbot Rice, lately the Director Land Equipment, DE&S – UK MoD. Expect NATO and EU member nations to talk trainability, supportability,
availability, maintainability, logistic support and obsolescence management.

22 JANUARY- MAIN CONFERENCE DAY ONE

A Key highlight for Main Conference Day One will be the annual Land Force Commanders Panel Discussion, moderated by LtGen Patrick
Sanders, Commander Field Army and joined by Major-General Thys, Belgian Land Component, Major General Engelbrektson, Army of
Sweden with more details on other participants to be released shortly. After lunch, the day will split into three tracks, Survivability, Firepower,
Protection, enabling a deep-dive into these three corners of the iron triangle. To round off the day, we’ll close with Strategic Leadership
Debate – featuring a selection of perspectives from our currently serving senior military leaders, alongside a selection of our retired
Greybeards. Discussants will consider the future of warfare, drawing on a collective breadth of knowledge to assess our currently nuanced
positon – where we are beginning to adapt to the new norms of modern warfare.
23 JANUARY – MAIN CONFERENCE DAY TWO

Major General Gary M. Brito, Commanding General, Maneuver Center of Excellence, U.S. Army, sets the tone for the day, sharing his
considerations for enhancing maneouvre in Multi Domain Operations (MDO). A key focus of the presentation will reflect on how the U.S. Army
is planning to leverage Robotics & Autonomous Systems for a decisive advantage in combat operations – especially those conducted in urban
environments. With this background, Main Conference Day Two will showcase the world’s largest and most current vehicle acquisition
programs, which are set to equip their respective armed forces for MDO.

Expect the key representatives from programs such as Australia’s Land 400, Czech BMP-2 replacement and/or modernisation and France’s
Scorpion project. The day will round off with a ‘Future Armoured Warfare Doctrine & Tactics’ discussion which is new for 2019 and will feature
discussants on the cutting edge of modern CONOPS.

24 JANUARY – ROBOTICS & AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS | Led by the U.S. Army’s Robotics Requirements Branch

Military dominance is no longer guaranteed as near-peer competitors have quietly worked to close the gap, whilst NATO and Allied partners
have been preoccupied with COIN operations in the Middle East. Recognising that warfighters might no longer have a guaranteed
technological advantage, our forces need to be better at leveraging emerging and disruptive technologies.

Near-peer competitors have taken concerted action to develop their indigenous robotics and autonomous systems, by developing long-range,
precise, smart, stealthy and unmanned weapons platforms. In order for the U.S. Army and its partners to achieve overmatch with its
competitors once again, the Army must seize the capability opportunities that RAS presents.

The Robotics Branch, having only been stood up in January, has a budget of over $1 billion over the next 5 years and is the newest
requirements organisation in the U.S. Army. The day offers a unique opportunity to gain exclusive insight into the U.S. Army’s long term RAS
strategy, the opportunity to influence, ask questions and, if you represent industry, discuss your own solutions.
