Jennifer Pelletier has been completing her PSIII at Father Leonard Van Tighem School under the
mentorship of Mr. John Templin. Jennifer teaches English Language Arts, math, and science to
Grade 1.

One of the skills that Jennifer possesses is an ability to plan and prepare for her lessons. Jennifer
created daily lesson plans and long-range plans. Her plans include the essential components of
setting student learning objectives and assessing those objectives. In addition to these essential
components, Jennifer effectively planned her lessons by including a set induction, having
structured activities, key questions, and a conclusion.
Jennifer has many skills as a teacher. She communicates the lessons that she has planned clearly.
Jennifer's very good planning is taught in a clear and structured manner. She delivers her lessons
using a variety of instructional methodologies including hands-on activities centres, and group
sharing activities. She also effectively uses technology in her lesson, specifically use of Smart
Board technology. By using a variety of instructional methodologies, Jennifer was able to
successfully engage students. She was committed to building strong student-teacher relationships
that added to the positive learning climate in the classroom. Jennifer uses her classroom learning
environment in an effective manner. Just as Jennifer sees the importance of opening lessons with
an objective, she also provides appropriate closure in the form of a summary. As a member of our
staff, Jennifer continually implemented strategies to help our school implement our Continuous
Improvement Plan.

Jennifer established ownership in her classroom early in her practicum. She assumed the
leadership role of the teacher, not only in her classroom but also within the school. She showed
initiative in assisting in school activities, especially in co-curricular activities of judging a poster
contest, supervising scrapbooking club, assisting with our Christmas Concert, and organizing an
Advent Celebration. Jennifer was active in school functions. By assuming these leadership
experiences she quickly developed positive relationships with her students. These positive
relationships helped her to establish effective classroom management. When misbehavior of
student did occur, Jennifer took ownership of the situation and worked through an effective
process to solve the problem. Jennifer maintained strong parental relationships and
communication, including maintaining a class website.

Throughout her practicum Jennifer effectively used assessment techniques to improve student
learning. Jennifer keeps accurate records of her summative assessments and she also includes
formative assessment practices in her lessons.

Jennifer always presented herself in a truly professional manner. She fulfilled all of her
responsibilities on staff. Jennifer was an active member of our learning community. Jennifer was
able to develop good relationships with our staff. After classroom observations, Jennifer was very
