1. Presence of potholes
a. The presence of potholes can make driving difficult because drivers would need
to take into account the potholes and avoid them. Not avoiding or not slowing
down on potholes will damage the suspension of the car.
b. Solution/s – Use an asphalt patch product on the pothole
2. Illegal parking
a. The presence of illegally parked vehicle will result to a narrowing down of a road,
from four lanes, it will now be three or lesser lanes because of parked cars.
b. Solution/s – Better enforcement of rules so that drivers will have second thoughts
on parking at the side of the roads.
3. Obstructed sidewalks
a. The presence of vegetation on sidewalks is rendering the sidewalk unusable for
pedestrians, pedestrians would have to resort to using the actual road when
walking down the streets. This is dangerous for the pedestrians as it is to drivers.
b. Solution/s – Clearing and grubbing to remove the obstacles so that the pedestrians
can pass through the sidewalks again.
4. Uneven road surface
a. Same with potholes, but less severe. Driving over these at high speeds will also
damage the underside of the car and it can lead to high costs due to the repairs and
accidents when it messes up the steering wheel alignment.
b. Solution/s – Same with pothole but it would be better if this is prevented, in
building roads, you would want a dry and stable base, high clay content or
moisture are not suitable.
5. Lack of guard rail
a. Lack of guard rails on deep gutters are dangerous for cars passing through. Cars
falling through deep gutters will cost a lot of money to repair and also will be a
major inconvenience to anyone involved.
b. Solution/s - Put guard rails on the gutter the prevent cars from falling on gutters.
