Universal Design for Learning (UDL):
Since the lesson plan involves a podcast that works well for students with vision problems. It can also benefit
students who learn best aurally. Also since the lesson involves following along and drawing the lifecycle it can
also benefit kinesthetic learners.

Lesson idea implementation:
The teacher needs to create a podcast that students can listen to in class or since it is posted to the class blog
they can also listen at home. The students need to listen to the podcast and draw their interpretation of the
frog’s lifecycle. The project could be sent home as homework or it could be introduced as the beginning of the
lifecycle. The learning will be assessed by the lifecycle they drew after listening to the podcast.

The learning can be extended by having the students compare their drawing with the other students in the
class. The learning could be increased by having students pick the lifecycle of another animal and then
creating their own podcast on it. Once the podcast is created it could be shared to the class website, this can
also be used to conclude the lesson.
Importance of technology:
Using the blog is helpful for this because it is an easy way to share the podcast with the entire class. I do not
believe that the project could be completed without technology. There would be no way for the podcast to be
shared without it.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy:
Since the blog would only be able to be accessed by the students and their parents that could help minimize
any risk. This would also help ease any worries parents or teachers may have.
Reflective Practice:
I think this would be used as an introduction to a lesson idea. To further extend the project you could have
the students present their podcasts to the class.
