DATA INTEGRATION FACE TO FACE MEETING BUDAPEST 24-25 August 2016

PURPOSE:

 Share results, plans and lessons learnt from Work Packages 0-5

o WP0: Data sets for common approaches


o WP1: Integrating survey and administrative sources
o WP2: New data sources (such as big data) and traditional sources
o WP3: Integrating geospatial and statistical information
o WP4: Micro-macro integration (inactive in 2016)
o WP5: Validating official statistics

 Develop first draft and initial guidance (Work Package A – Synthesize lessons learnt from new
working methods)

 Discuss and develop initial proposals for further work

A first draft of outputs from the workshop, and any recommendations for further work, will be
circulated to interested organisations for comment. After refinement, the results will be presented
to the Workshop on the Modernisation of Official Statistics in November 2016

AGENDA:
Note Timing for agenda will be organised to allow Colombia to participate in afternoon and New
Zealand to participate in morning. Please see end of document for webex connections.

9.20 am (10 mins) Introduction to how sprints operate
9.30 am (30 mins) Review Project Proposal, discuss role of coordinators of Work Packages and
agree purpose and objectives of the Meeting
10.00 am (30 mins) What should be developed for Work Package A – Synthesize lessons learnt
from new working methods.
- How do we make our work most useful to official statistics organisations?

11.00 am (60 mins) Divide into three groups (for WP0, WP1, WP5) to brainstorm and create
content for Work Packages, according to guideline structure
12.00 pm (30 mins) Present work so far (10 minutes for each WP0,WP1,WP5) to gather
suggestions and feedback
12.30 pm (1 hr) Lunch break
1.30 pm (30 mins) Return to groups to discuss and incorporate suggestions
