When you
Abyssal Tieflings
At the DM's option, you can create a tiefling character who
has a special link to one of the Princes of the Abyss. This link
is represented by a subrace.
Subrace Traits
If your tiefling has a subrace, choose one of the following
options – whichever one corresponds to the abyssal being
connected to the tiefling's family.
The traits of the chosen subrace replace the tiefling's
Ability Score Increase and Infernal Legacy traits given in the
Player's Handbook.
Additionally, instead of Infernal, you can read, write, and
speak Abyssal.
Baphomet
The Horned King's descendants are fierce fighters who hunt
down their prey with primal fury.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by
2, and your Strength score increases by 1.
Gift of the Endless Maze. You know the thaumaturgy
cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hunter's
mark spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so
when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you
can cast the magic weapon spell once with this trait,
requiring no material component, and regain the ability to do
so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting
ability for these spells.
Demogorgon
The Master of the Spiraling Depths grants his tieflings the
ability to sow discord and spread chaos.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by
2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Gift of the Gaping Maw. You know the minor illusion
cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the cause fear
spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the
ability to do so when you finish long rest. When you reach 5th
level, you can cast the mirror image spell once with this trait,
requiring no material component, and regain the ability to do
so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting
ability for these spells.
Fraz-Urb'luu
Illusions are the Prince of Deception's speciality, and his kin
can channel his powers over reality.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by
2, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.

Tieflings linked to the Dark Prince can bend the minds of
their enemies to their will.

with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a

climb spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so

Orcus
The Demon Prince of Undeath gifts his progeny with the
ability to stave off death – and hasten it for others.

2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

you reach 3rd level, you can cast the false life spell as a 2nd-
level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so

can cast the ray of enfeeblement spell once with this trait and
regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.

Yeenoghu
The pack of the Beast of Butchery are deadly killers who take
joy in their sport, taunting their prey.

cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Tasha's
hideous laughter spell once with this trait and regain the
ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach
5th level, you can cast the invisibility spell once with this trait
and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.

Zuggtmoy
The Lady of Rot and Decay's spawn spread sickness to both
the body and mind of their enemies.
