Overview of the lesson: Instructions appear to be clear to the students. Bright and colorful slides
were used to introduce vertical addition to the students. Great pictorial representation using the
house style addition. It added a different element to adding and it makes it more interesting and
visually appealing to the students.
Moza appears to have developed a great relationship with her MST. There is cooperation
between the two.
Gradual release of responsibility was evident during the lesson. There was a demonstration by
the teacher followed by the students working with the teacher and, finally, students worked alone
to solve some problems.

Areas for development: Purpose of the activities weren’t clear. For instance, were the students
to create a poster using fundamentals of vertical addition? Or, were they to evaluate……………..?
Improve cooperation among the students?
Improve the use of manipulatives in the classroom.
